Day 01: Arrival in Cochin

You will be assisted by our representative who will transfer you to the hotel and help you check in.

Day 02: Cochin

Proceed for a full-day sightseeing tour of Cochin City.

Kochi Trivia: The gateway to Kerala, Kochi is situated on the southwest coast of India. The city was the first European settlement in India. Its location between the blue waters of the Arabian Sea and Kerala’s emerald backwaters, and its rich medley of Indian and foreign architecture make it a favourite tourist spot. 

Your guide and driver will pick up you from your hotel and proceed to see the best Kochi tourist places. The first stop will be the Jewish Synagogue. The Synagogue is the oldest synagogue in India built in 1568. It is decorated with Chinese tiles and Belgian chandeliers. 

Next, you will visit St. Francis Church, the first European church in India. The church was built in 1516. It is famous for being the former burial place of Vasco de Gama which was later taken to Lisbon. 

Then, you will head to see the Dutch Palace. Built by the Portuguese in 1557 and gifted to the King of Cochin is one of the interesting places to visit in Cochin. Also known as Mattancherry Palace, is a 2-storied building with a central. 

Your next stop will be the Indo-Portuguese Museum. It was established by Dr. Joseph Kureethra to protect the rich heritage of Portuguese influence on the city. The museum has five main sections including the Altar, Treasure, Procession, Civil Life and Cathedral. 

Your tour will next take you to see Chinese Fishing Nets. These are set up on teak wood and bamboo poles, which were introduced by Chinese explorer Zheng He.

After covering all the attractions, you will be taken to a beautiful theatre to witness a spectacular Kathakali Dance Show. Kathakali is a classical dance form and is deeply embedded in the culture of Kerala. 

Return and stay for the night at the hotel in Cochin.

Day 03: Cochin – Marari

Enjoy your drive to Mararikulam.

Marari Trivia: Marari originates from 'Mararikulam', a local fishing village on the Arabian Sea coast. The indolent pace of local life makes vacationing near the Marari beach a reviving experience.

Your spot will be the tranquil Marari beach. It is the perfect location for holidaying with family or friends. This beach in Kerala looks mind-boggling with coconut palm trees and golden sands.

Day 05: Marari – Kumarakom – Periyar

You will leave for Periyar and en route visit Kumarakom. 

Kumarakom Trivia: Kumarakom is the first destination in India to Implement Responsible Tourism practices for which Kerala Tourism was even awarded. They successfully linked the local community with the hospitality industry and government departments, thereby creating a model for the empowerment and development of the people in the area while sustaining eco-friendly tourism.

On arrival, you will proceed on an adventurous village tour. Learning about the life of people in a local village will give you an experience beyond imagination during your trip to Kerala.

During this tour, you will be on a captivating 1.5-hour country boat cruise through Kumarakom's enchanting canals, guided by a local expert, where you'll witness vibrant daily life, lush paddy fields, toddy tapping, and traditional coconut palm weaving. 

Experience the Shikara cruise for 01 hour. 

After that, relax and enjoy the mesmerizing sunset Shikara cruise on the backwaters of Kerala for 1 hour.

Drive to Periyar and check in at hotel.

Day 06: Periyar

Proceed to spot some wildlife at the Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary in Thekkady which is spread across 777 sq. km of which 360 sq. km is a thick ever green forest. 

Enjoy a jungle boat ride at Periyar Lake. 

In the evening, witness Kalarippayattu (Martial Art) show at a local theatre in Periyar. Known as the mother of all martial arts; Kalarippayattu is one of the oldest fighting systems in existence, it is practised in Kerala.

Kalarippayattu Trivia: It includes strikes, kicks, grappling, preset forms, weaponry and healing methods. The Northern style is based on the principle of hard technique, while the Southern style primarily follows soft techniques, even though both systems make use of internal and external concepts. (6.00 PM TO 7.00 PM)

Day 07: Periyar – Cochin

One of the beautiful things to do in Kerala is to visit an aromatic spice plantation.

Spice Trivia: Spices have always been an important part of life in Kerala. The masters of Ayurveda discovered the use of spices for medicinal purposes. Spices also play an important role in Kerala cuisine, non-Ayurvedic medicine and cosmetics. Periyar is blessed with numerous types of spices. This tour is the reason Kerala cuisine is so different from most of the other Indian cuisines. The tour gives you a chance to enjoy cardamom, pepper, clove, cinnamon, nutmeg, vanilla and many other varieties of spices and medicinal plants.

Bid Periyar farewell. Reach Cochin and check in at the hotel.
