"Best Honeymoon Places In Georgia: Drive Times And Trade-Offs "

Best Honeymoon Places in Georgia for Couples

Georgia’s best honeymoon place depends on how many hours you will spend in a car.

Mestia in Svaneti is 7 hours 10 minutes from Tbilisi by road, according to Georgia’s tourism board.

On 10 February 2026, the Roads Department banned all vehicles on the Gudauri–Kobi stretch, and Kazbegi sits beyond it.

Batumi’s sea is swimmable only from July to mid-September.

Your e-Visa, hotels and insurance must all carry the name printed in your passport, and the portal does not refund a mistake.

This roadmap shows which places fit which trip length, current as of 1 October 2026.

Which Georgia Honeymoon Places Fit Which Trip Length?

Six places carry most Georgia honeymoons: Tbilisi, Kazbegi, Gudauri, Kakheti, Batumi and Borjomi.

Roaming Legs’ 5-day route covers Tbilisi and Kazbegi.

The 7-day route adds Gudauri and Kakheti.

The 10-day route adds Batumi and Borjomi and covers close to 900 km.

Every stop adds a hotel change, so a longer list does not make a better honeymoon.

Place From Tbilisi Best For Trade-Off
Kazbegi About 3 hours Mountain views and quiet A winter road closure can cut it off
Gudauri About 2–2.5 hours A one-night mountain stop Activities are paid and arranged on the spot
Kakheti About 2 hours Wine and slow days Our routes overnight in Telavi, not Sighnaghi
Tbilisi Start and end point Old Town and sulfur baths Every route passes through it
Batumi About 5.5–6 hours by road Sea and promenade Swimming only July to mid-September
Borjomi 2 hours or more Mineral springs and spa On the 10-day route only

Kazbegi And Gudauri: The Mountain Leg

Both places sit on the Georgian Military Highway, so one closed road affects both.

Kazbegi (Stepantsminda)

Kazbegi is about 3 hours from Tbilisi, according to Georgia’s tourism board.

Gergeti Trinity Church stands at 2,200 metres, with Mount Kazbek behind it.

The tourism board advises at least two to three days here for a relaxed visit.

Roaming Legs’ routes usually give Kazbegi one or two nights.

If quiet matters more than ticking off stops, ask for the longer stay on a private booking.

The tourism board puts peak scenery between August and October.

Our Kazbegi travel guide covers the town in full.

Gudauri

Gudauri is about 120 km from Tbilisi, roughly 2 to 2.5 hours by road.

On our routes it is a one-night stop between Tbilisi or Kakheti and Kazbegi.

Paragliding, lift tickets and ski rental are not in the package.

You arrange and pay for them on the spot.

Canada’s Georgia travel advice says adventure tourism can be dangerous when poorly organised.

It suggests hiring experienced guides and carrying helicopter rescue insurance.

Read the Gudauri guide before you decide whether one night is enough.

When The Road Closes

On 10 February 2026, the Roads Department banned all vehicles on km 93–107 of the Gudauri–Kobi section because of avalanche risk.

The Mleta–Gudauri stretch stayed open for non-stop transit only.

Kazbegi lies beyond that stretch.

For any winter dates that include Kazbegi, ask for the closure plan in writing before you pay.

Our best time to visit Georgia page covers what each season allows.

Kakheti And Sighnaghi: The Wine Leg

Kakheti is about 2 hours from Tbilisi.

Roaming Legs’ 7-day and 10-day routes give it one night, based in Telavi.

Sighnaghi

Sighnaghi is 1 hour 40 minutes from Tbilisi, according to the tourism board.

Its walls run 4 km, with six gates and 23 towers.

Its House of Rituals registers marriages around the clock, which earns the town its City of Love name.

Sighnaghi is a visit on our standard stop, not the overnight base.

A night in Sighnaghi itself is a customisation, so ask for it when you enquire on a private booking.

CHOOSE YOUR ROUTE

Which Combination To Choose

5 days: Tbilisi and Kazbegi, for mountains and quiet.
7 days: add Gudauri and Kakheti, for wine and a slower middle.
10 days: add Borjomi and Batumi, for spa and sea, with the longest drives.
Custom: Sighnaghi overnight or Batumi on a shorter trip.
Svaneti: treat it as a separate trip.
Private bookings can change route, pace and hotels. Scheduled group departures follow a fixed route.

Paperwork Checks For Newlyweds

The official e-Visa FAQ lists five documents a border officer can ask for.

They are your passport, a document proving the purpose of travel, proof of accommodation, travel and health insurance, and proof of sufficient funds.

A marriage certificate is not on that list.

Each traveller needs a separate e-Visa, whatever their age.

The fee is not refundable if the application has errors, and you must apply again.

Enter your name exactly as printed in your passport.

The portal does not address a changed surname.

We could not confirm how officers treat a surname that differs between passport and other documents.

Kakheti And Sighnaghi The Wine Leg

Kakheti In Harvest Season

The tourism board puts the harvest between mid-September and November.

It also says local guesthouses keep their own wine cellars, called marani.

Dates shift each year, so confirm the harvest week before you fix your travel dates.

Our Kakheti guide explains what the standard stop includes.

Tbilisi: The Base You Cannot Skip

Every Roaming Legs route starts and ends in Tbilisi.

Sightseeing there is free and self-guided, with private transfers handled for you.

The tourism board says sulfur baths in the Abanotubani district offer private rooms.

It also says winter brings fewer tourists and lower prices in the capital.

Canada’s advice tells travellers to exercise a high degree of caution in Tbilisi because of demonstrations.

The advisory names no streets, so ask your hotel whether demonstrations have affected its street on your dates.

See the Tbilisi travel guide for what to do with your free time.

Batumi: The Coast Leg

Batumi is roughly 370–380 km from Tbilisi, about 5.5 to 6 hours by road.

On the 10-day route it is the longest stop, followed by a return drive of about 5 hours 40 minutes.

The beach is pebble, not sand, so pack thick-soled footwear.

The tourism board’s Batumi beach guide puts peak swimming from July to mid-September, with water at 27–28°C.

By October the water is about 21°C, and in early spring it is about 14°C.

The Ali and Nino statue moves every evening from 7 pm, approaching and separating every ten minutes.

Cable car tickets, boat trips and day trips are arranged on the spot.

The Batumi guide shows what the stop adds.

On a 5-day or 7-day private booking, Batumi can be added as a paid extension.

Borjomi The Spa Stop On The Longer Route

Borjomi: The Spa Stop On The Longer Route

Borjomi is on the 10-day route only.

The tourism board gives the drive from Tbilisi as 2 hours, while our own guide says 2.5 to 3 hours.

Plan for the longer figure.

The park has a cable car at its entrance and marked paths to sulfur pools about 2.5 km away.

The tourism board says the Borjomi sulfur baths stay open all year.

Our Borjomi guide covers what is open now.

Places Honeymoon Lists Add That Rarely Fit

Mestia in Svaneti appears on many honeymoon lists.

It is 7 hours 10 minutes from Tbilisi by road, according to the tourism board.

Our own places page gives 8 to 9 hours.

A round trip is therefore well over 14 hours of driving.

Roaming Legs’ standard routes do not include Svaneti.

Kutaisi is the realistic extra, as an optional stop on the drive to Batumi on the 10-day route.

BEFORE YOU BOOK

Check Your Travel Insurance

  • Book flights, hotels and insurance in the passport name.
  • Insurance must cover at least GEL 30,000 for your whole stay.
  • Visit Georgia's official explainer on the 2026 rule does not mention skiing or paragliding.
  • Ask your insurer whether adventure activities are excluded, and get the answer in writing.
TRIP PLANNING

Your Planning Order, Step By Step

  1. Check that the name in your passport is the name you will use everywhere.
  2. Pick a trip length and count the hotel changes it brings.
  3. Decide whether you want the sea, the spa or neither.
  4. Fix your dates and check them against the harvest, the swim window and the winter road rule.
  5. Ask for any Sighnaghi night or Batumi extension in writing.
  6. Apply for each traveller's e-Visa separately.
  7. Buy insurance that shows every mandatory detail and check its adventure exclusions.
  8. Get the winter road-closure plan in writing if your dates fall in winter.

Mistakes That Cost Honeymooners Money

  • Choosing six places for a 5-day trip.
  • Booking a winter Kazbegi stay without a written closure plan.
  • Planning Batumi swimming for October or spring.
  • Assuming a Sighnaghi overnight is included.
  • Using a new surname on bookings while the passport carries the old one.
  • Assuming standard insurance covers paragliding or skiing.
  • Applying again after a spelling error and losing the first fee.

Frequently Asked Questions

Which Is The Best Honeymoon Place In Georgia For A 5-Day Trip?

Kazbegi, with Tbilisi on either side.

Our 5-day route covers exactly those two places.

Batumi is 5.5 to 6 hours each way, so it does not belong on a 5-day trip.

Can We Fit Kazbegi, Kakheti And Batumi Into 7 Days?

Not by default.

The 7-day route covers Tbilisi, Kazbegi, Gudauri and Kakheti.

Batumi can be added to a private booking as a paid extension, so raise it when you enquire.

Is Batumi Worth It Outside Beach Season?

Only if you want the promenade and a slower pace.

Sea water is about 21°C by October and 14°C in early spring.

The tourism board also calls September and October the Black Sea's velvet season.

Can We Stay Overnight In Sighnaghi?

Not on the standard route.

Our itineraries overnight in Telavi and visit Sighnaghi on the stop.

Ask for a Sighnaghi night when you enquire on a private booking.

Do We Need A Marriage Certificate To Enter Georgia?

No.

The official e-Visa FAQ does not list one.

The five documents are your passport, proof of purpose, accommodation, insurance and funds.

Carrying your certificate costs nothing, but Georgia does not list it.

My Passport Still Has My Maiden Name. Which Name Do We Use?

Use the name printed in the passport you will carry.

The e-Visa portal says to enter your name as in the passport.

We could not confirm how officers treat a changed surname, so keep every booking in the passport name.

Can We Marry Or Renew Vows In Sighnaghi During The Trip?

Marriage can be registered there, according to the tourism board, but it is a legal process.

Georgia's Public Service Development Agency requires a joint application, two adult witnesses and no representatives.

Foreign documents beyond a passport need legalisation or apostille and a notarised Georgian translation.

Raise this when you enquire, because a ceremony is not part of our standard route.

Does Our Insurance Cover Paragliding Or Skiing In Gudauri?

Check your policy wording.

The GEL 30,000 minimum is a floor, and the official explainer does not mention adventure sports.

Canada's advice also suggests helicopter rescue insurance for adventure activity.

Will A Winter Road Closure Cut Off Kazbegi?

It can.

On 10 February 2026 the Roads Department banned all vehicles on km 93–107 of the Gudauri–Kobi section.

Ask for the closure plan in writing and keep a spare day in your route.

Is Mestia In Svaneti Realistic For A Short Honeymoon?

No.

The tourism board lists 7 hours 10 minutes by road from Tbilisi.

A round trip alone is over 14 hours, before any sightseeing.

Can We Book A Private Sulfur-Bath Room In Tbilisi?

Yes, according to the tourism board.

Private rooms are offered in the Abanotubani bath district.

Ask your hotel or the bathhouse to reserve one for your date.

Should Demonstrations Change Where We Stay In Tbilisi?

Canada advises a high degree of caution in Tbilisi because of demonstrations and clashes.

The advisory names no streets.

Ask your hotel whether its street has been affected on your dates.

Georgia Food Prices In Rupees: What Meals Really Cost (2026)

How Much Does Food Cost in Georgia for Indian Tourists?

Restaurant meal prices in Georgia rose 7.6% in the year to May 2026.

That is faster than the 5.7% annual inflation recorded for the whole economy that month, as Georgia Today reported from Geostat’s release.

Khachapuri in cafes rose 11.6%, and beer in bars rose 10.5%.

So any Georgia price list written in 2025 is already out of date.

No government body publishes a menu-price table for tourists, so every “average meal” figure you find online is someone’s estimate.

The one price rule you can use at the table is that a menu must show the final price, including VAT and service charge.

This roadmap shows what is verified, what is not, and how to turn it into a rupee budget, current as of 1 October 2026.

What Official Data Says About Georgia Food Prices

What Official Data Says About Georgia Food Prices

Georgia’s statistics office, Geostat, tracks food and restaurant prices every month.

Georgia Today reported the May 2026 figures on 4 June 2026.

Annual inflation was 5.7%, food prices rose 5.2%, and restaurant meals rose 7.6%.

Restaurants are climbing faster than the general price level.

For you, that means eating out is where cost creep hits first.

Which Dishes Are Rising Fastest

Georgia Today's report splits the 7.6% by item.

Item Year-on-year rise, May 2026
Khachapuri in cafes 11.6%
Beer in bars 10.5%
Khachapuri in bakeries 9.8%
Coffee in cafes 6.2%
Khinkali 4.5%

The report gives percentages, not lari prices.

Use them to adjust a price you already have, not to set one.

Shops are moving too.

Georgia Today’s report on Geostat’s August 2026 data puts food and non-alcoholic beverages up 5.0%.

Fish, meat and meat products rose 9.8%, oils and fats 7.8%, bread and bakery products 7.1%, and vegetables 5.5%.

If you plan to buy breakfast or snacks from a supermarket, meat and bread are the lines getting dearer fastest.

The rate itself moves.

Modern.az, reporting Geostat, put khinkali at 5% and café khachapuri at 10% in February 2026, and said lunches carried fewer discounts.

So use the latest monthly release, not an older headline figure.

How To Lift An Old Price To 2026 Levels

Multiply any price that is a year old by the category factor.

Category Factor GEL 10 becomes GEL 20 becomes GEL 30 becomes
Average restaurant meal 1.076 10.76 21.52 32.28
Café khachapuri 1.116 11.16 22.32 33.48
Beer in a bar 1.105 11.05 22.10 33.15
Coffee in a café 1.062 10.62 21.24 31.86
Khinkali 1.045 10.45 20.90 31.35

These are national averages, so one restaurant can differ.

In the reports we opened, Geostat does not split them by Tbilisi, Kazbegi or Batumi.

Menu Prices You Can Verify In Rupees

We found no official dataset of Georgian menu prices.

We also found no government figure for a bottle of wine, a market lunch or a table-service dinner.

The one price source we could open and trust is a restaurant’s own published menu.

One Chain’s Published Menu

Khinkali Factory’s online menu lists prices in lari.

The menu is undated, so treat it as one chain’s price, not an average.

It says nothing about a table-service restaurant in Kazbegi.

The National Bank of Georgia’s official rate on 1 October 2026 is 100 INR = 2.7181 GEL.

That makes GEL 1 about ₹36.79.

Item Price In rupees
10 khinkali GEL 21.50 ₹791
10 khinkali with 0.33L Coca-Cola GEL 25.30 ₹931
Khachapuri with 0.33L Coca-Cola GEL 26.30 ₹968
3 chocolate khinkali GEL 13.00 ₹478
1L lemonade GEL 9.50 ₹350

One khinkali costs about GEL 2.15, or ₹79, on that menu.

The Coca-Cola adds GEL 3.80, or ₹140, to the 10-khinkali order.

For quick conversions at the same rate:

  • GEL 5 is about ₹184.
  • GEL 10 is about ₹368.
  • GEL 20 is about ₹736.
  • GEL 50 is about ₹1,840.
  • GEL 100 is about ₹3,679.

The rate changes daily, so convert again on the day you pay.

What We Could Not Confirm

We could not confirm an official price for any of these:

  • a bottle of Georgian wine at a restaurant
  • a table-service dinner for two in Tbilisi
  • a meal on the Kazbegi road or in Gudauri
  • a market or supermarket basket in lari

Treat any figure for them, including on competitor pages, as an estimate.

Ask your trip planner for a current menu photo from each stop before you budget.

The Final Bill VAT, Service Charge And Tips

The Final Bill: VAT, Service Charge And Tips

What The Menu Must Show

Georgia’s Competition and Consumer Agency published a price standard for food service on 12 February 2024.

It requires traders to give a clear menu showing the total price, including VAT and any other taxes, service charge included.

The notice does not say whether a service charge is mandatory or voluntary.

It gives no start date, so we could not confirm when the standard began to apply.

It does record a penalty: two traders were fined GEL 1,200 each in January 2024 for not meeting the Agency’s obligations.

So the menu price should already include VAT and service.

Wander-Lush reports a service charge of typically 10%, up to 20% at higher-end restaurants, and says it should be spelled out on the menu.

We found no official rate.

If a menu shows prices before service, a 10% line turns GEL 100 into GEL 110, and 20% turns it into GEL 120.

Ask which price is final before you order.

Wander-Lush also says some restaurants charge a lari or two for the bread basket.

We could not confirm that from an official source, so tell the server if you do not want it.

If The Bill Is Higher Than The Menu

  1. Photograph the menu page before you order.
  2. Ask for an itemised bill with VAT and service shown as separate lines.
  3. Compare each line with the menu price.
  4. Ask the manager to explain any line that does not match.
  5. Keep the photo and the bill.
GOOD TO KNOW

Complaints & Tipping

  • We could not confirm a complaint route for visitors at the Agency.
  • We found no official tipping rule.
  • Check whether your bill already shows a service line before you add a tip.

Card Charges On Every Restaurant Bill

A restaurant bill is not the end of the cost if you pay with an Indian credit card.

SBI Card lists 3.5% on most cards for spends abroad, plus 18% GST on that fee.

That is about 4.13%.

Other banks differ, so check your own card’s terms.

Meal bill In rupees at ₹36.79 Card charge at about 4.13%
GEL 20 ₹736 ₹30
GEL 50 ₹1,840 ₹76
GEL 100 ₹3,679 ₹152
GEL 200 ₹7,358 ₹304

On GEL 500 of meals across a trip, that is about ₹760 in charges.

Canada’s Georgia travel advice warns that cards may not work in rural areas.

Carry some lari for stops outside the cities.

Cash avoids the card charge, but we could not confirm what Georgian exchange counters charge.

Our Georgia trip cost breakdown from India covers card and tax charges line by line.

What A Full-Board Package Covers And What It Does Not

A Roaming Legs Georgia package includes full-board meals and a private vehicle for the full trip.

So most of your meal cost on a package is prepaid.

The meals you pay for yourself are the ones outside the plan.

Ask these questions in writing before you pay:

  • Are drinks, including water, tea, coffee and alcohol, included at each meal?
  • Are tips included?
  • Do lunches on the Kazbegi road and in Gudauri fall inside the plan?
  • Are meals on arrival and departure days included?
  • What happens to a meal you skip?
  • Is there a limit on dishes per person?
COMPARE QUOTES

Compare The Full Package Cost

Your Food Budget, Step By Step

  1. Ask which meals your package prepays, and list the meals it does not.
  2. Count the unpackaged meals by day, including arrival and departure days.
  3. Take a price per meal from a current menu, not from a 2025 list.
  4. If the price is a year old, lift it by 7.6% for restaurant meals or 11.6% for café khachapuri.
  5. Convert it at the National Bank of Georgia rate on your booking day.
  6. Add about 4.13% if you will pay by Indian credit card.
  7. Split the total into lari cash for rural stops and card for cities.
  8. Add a separate drinks line, because beer rose 10.5% in a year.

Here is one example using only that chain’s published prices.

Two people share 20 khinkali and 1L of lemonade.

That is GEL 43.00 plus GEL 9.50, or GEL 52.50, about ₹1,931.

The card charge adds about ₹80.

It is one chain’s menu, not an average.

Mistakes That Cost Money On Food

  • Using a 2025 price list without the 7.6% lift.
  • Treating a competitor’s “average meal” as an official figure.
  • Not checking that the bill matches the menu total.
  • Adding a tip before checking for a service line.
  • Paying every meal by Indian card and ignoring the 4.13% charge.
  • Relying on cards at rural stops.
  • Assuming full-board covers drinks without a written answer.
  • Converting at last month’s exchange rate.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is A 2025 Georgia Price List Still Usable?

Not without adjusting it.

Geostat figures show restaurant meals up 7.6% in the year to May 2026.

Multiply old restaurant prices by 1.076, and café khachapuri by 1.116.

Can A Restaurant Add A Service Charge On Top Of The Menu Price?

The Agency's standard says the menu must show the total price, service charge included.

It does not say whether the charge is mandatory or voluntary.

Ask which price is final before you order.

What Do I Do If My Bill Does Not Match The Menu?

Ask for an itemised bill and compare each line with the menu.

Photograph the menu before you order.

We could not confirm a complaint route for visitors, so keep the photo and the bill.

How Much Do 10 Khinkali Cost In Rupees?

On Khinkali Factory's published menu, they cost GEL 21.50, about ₹791.

That is one chain, and the menu is undated.

Check the price on the day, because khinkali rose 4.5% in the year to May 2026.

Do I Still Tip If Service Is Included?

We found no official tipping rule.

Check whether your bill shows a service line before you add anything.

Tipping is your choice.

How Much Extra Does My Indian Card Add To A Meal?

About 4.13% on most SBI Card credit cards.

On a GEL 100 meal, that is about ₹152 on top of ₹3,679.

Check your own card's terms, because other banks differ.

Should I Pay For Meals In Cash Or By Card?

Use card in cities and keep lari for rural stops.

Canada's travel advice warns that cards may not work in rural areas.

Cash avoids the card charge, but we could not confirm exchange-counter charges.

Which Georgian Foods Are Rising Fastest?

Café khachapuri, up 11.6%, and beer in bars, up 10.5%, in the year to May 2026.

Bakery khachapuri rose 9.8%, coffee 6.2% and khinkali 4.5%.

These are national averages, not city prices.

Are Groceries Rising Slower Than Restaurants?

In May 2026, food rose 5.2% against 7.6% for restaurant meals.

Meat, fish and meat products still rose 9.8% in the year to August.

A supermarket basket with meat is not immune.

Does My Package Include Drinks And Tips?

Full-board meals are included in every Roaming Legs Georgia package.

Ask the team to confirm drinks, tips and lunch stops in writing before you pay.

Get the answer for your exact itinerary, not a general one.

Can I Use The Average Visitor Spend As A Food Budget?

No.

Georgia Today reported on 30 January 2026 that Geostat's 2025 average was GEL 2,187 per visit.

That covers every spending category and every nationality, so it is not a food figure.

How Much Lari Should I Carry For Meals Outside The Package?

We found no official figure, so build your own.

Multiply your unpackaged meals by a current menu price, and lift old prices by 7.6%.

Convert at the National Bank rate on the day you exchange.

Are Meals Pricier In Kazbegi And Gudauri?

We could not confirm it.

The Geostat figures we opened are national averages.

Ask your trip planner for current menu prices at each stop.

When Will Newer Price Data Come Out?

Georgia Today reported Geostat's May and August figures on 4 June and 3 September 2026.

That points to a release in the first days of each month.

Check the latest one before you finalise your budget.

Is Georgia Expensive For Indian Tourists? The 2026 Rupee Reality Check

Is Georgia Expensive for Indian Tourists in 2026?

An unchanged lari price now costs you about 19% more in rupees than it did a year ago.

On 1 October 2025, GEL 1 cost about ₹32.58.

On 1 October 2026, it costs about ₹36.79.

Georgia’s annual inflation was 5.6% in August 2026, and transport prices rose 15.2%.

One Georgian consultancy puts hotel prices up 8.4% in a year.

This roadmap converts every price at the official rate and shows what to budget, current as of 1 October 2026.

Is Georgia Expensive For Indian Tourists In 2026?

Georgia is not a low-cost destination for Indians in 2026.

It is also not out of reach.

Your cost depends on three numbers: the rupee-to-lari rate, lari inflation, and how much of your trip a package prepays.

Two of those numbers moved against you in the last twelve months.

The third is the one you control.

Read the rest of this page with that split in mind.

Why Georgia Costs More In Rupees Than Last Year

Why Georgia Costs More In Rupees Than Last Year

The Rupee-To-Lari Move

The National Bank of Georgia sets the official rate each day.

On 1 October 2025, the National Bank of Georgia’s official rate was 100 INR = GEL 3.0692.

On 1 October 2026, it was 100 INR = GEL 2.7181.

That makes GEL 1 about ₹32.58 last October and about ₹36.79 now.

Every lari price is therefore about 12.9% dearer in rupees, before any price rise in Georgia itself.

This is the line most cost guides skip, because they quote a lari price and stop.

Rates move daily, so redo the conversion on the day you pay.

Inflation And Hotel Prices In Lari

Geostat’s August 2026 release, as SovaNews reported on 3 September 2026, puts annual inflation at 5.6%.

Transport prices rose 15.2%, and transport services alone rose 12.8%.

Fish and seafood rose 18.1%, and meat products rose 9.8%.

Rents rose 8.4%.

We found no published Geostat figure for restaurants or hotels in that release, so this page makes no claim on them.

PMCG, a Georgian policy consultancy, reports that its hotel price index rose 8.4% year on year in June 2026.

It also reports average room rates between GEL 128 and GEL 494 a night, which is about ₹4,709 to ₹18,174.

PMCG does not publish its method on the page we opened, so treat this as a direction, not a quote.

Put the two moves together.

A price of GEL 100 last October cost you about ₹3,258.

If that price rose with 5.6% inflation, it is GEL 105.6 now, which costs about ₹3,885.

That is about 19% more.

This is our own arithmetic on two sources, not a published figure, and real prices vary by item.

The Same Average Visit, Priced Twice

Geostat’s 2025 inbound tourism release, published 30 January 2026, gives an average spend of GEL 2,187.3 per visit.

The average stay was 5.6 nights.

At last October’s rate, that visit cost about ₹71,260.

At today’s rate, it costs about ₹80,470.

The same lari spend now costs you about ₹9,200 more.

SPENDING BENCHMARK

Geostat's tables do not include India, so this covers all visitors and is a benchmark, not an Indian budget.

28.4%
Shopping was the largest line of spend.
25.4%
Accommodation came next.

That is the line you control, and it matters again below.

What A Daily Budget In Georgia Really Means

A daily budget is only useful if you know which costs it covers.

We found no trusted published price list for meals, attractions or taxis in Georgia.

So this page gives you the conversion, not invented prices.

Pick the lari figure you expect to spend each day and read across.

Daily Spend In Lari In Rupees At Oct 2025 Rate In Rupees At Oct 2026 Rate
GEL 50 ₹1,629 ₹1,840
GEL 100 ₹3,258 ₹3,679
GEL 150 ₹4,887 ₹5,519
GEL 200 ₹6,516 ₹7,358

A seven-day trip at GEL 100 a day is about ₹25,750 in cash.

Add the card charge on top if you pay by card, as the section below explains.

If Your Package Is Full-Board

A Roaming Legs Georgia package includes 5-star hotels, a private vehicle for the full trip, full-board meals and a private airport transfer.

Those lines are prepaid, so they leave your daily number.

What stays in your daily cash is shopping, optional activities, tips and anything you order outside your meals.

Paragliding in Gudauri, cable car tickets and a private wine tasting in Kakheti are optional extras.

Ask for each price in writing, so you can compare quotes on the same basis.

If You Book Everything Yourself

Every line is yours: hotel, food, transport, entry tickets and transfers.

The one transport price we could verify is Tbilisi’s public fare.

Georgia Today reported in December 2021 that the fare would rise to GEL 1 from February 2022, valid for 90 minutes across metro, bus and minibus.

PRICE CHECK

Check The Price For Your Dates

That is about ₹37 at today's rate, and we found no 2026 change.

Costs Outside The Package That Make Georgia Feel Expensive

These lines sit outside any package price, and they are why a “cheap” quote feels dearer at the end.

Our guide to the Georgia trip cost breakdown from India shows each one in detail.

Cost What To Budget
e-Visa US$20.40 on the official portal, about ₹1,955
Identity check Wego and Tata AIG report a further US$15, taking the total to about ₹3,392
Insurance Mandatory since 1 January 2026, at least GEL 30,000 cover
Insurance premium GeoCover lists about ₹1,017 for 7 days
Tax collected at source 2% of the package, so ₹3,000 on ₹1,50,000
Card charges About 4.1% on a standard card, per SBI Card's terms

The official portal text we opened does not list the US$15 identity check, so confirm it when you apply.

The tax collected at source is a credit you claim in your income tax return.

It still ties up your cash until then.

On ₹30,000 spent in lari by standard card, you pay about ₹1,239 in charges.

Tax-Free Shopping: The Refund Most Tourists Miss

Shopping is the biggest line in Geostat’s 2025 spending data.

Georgia has a tax-free scheme for foreign visitors, and most Indian travellers never use it.

The Revenue Service of Georgia’s tax-free page sets the rules.

A purchase must exceed GEL 200, excluding VAT, on a single receipt.

That is about ₹7,358.

You must buy from an authorised tax-free store, which issues a special receipt.

The refund covers goods, not services.

You must claim within 3 months of purchase.

The goods must leave Georgia unused, in their original undamaged packaging with seals intact.

The page states no refund percentage, so ask the shop what you will receive before you buy.

Opening the sealed packaging before you leave Georgia puts the refund at risk.

What Georgia Costs By Traveller Type

What Georgia Costs By Traveller Type

Couples And First-Timers

Per-person package prices assume twin-sharing.

Compare three lines when you set quotes side by side: what the package includes, whether flights are in the price, and what the optional extras cost.

Ask for each in writing.

Families

Each traveller needs a separate e-Visa application, including a child listed on a parent’s passport.

Four travellers pay four fees.

At the official US$20.40, that is about ₹7,820.

With the US$15 identity check that Wego reports, it is about ₹13,568.

Insurance must also carry the seven mandatory details for every person.

At GeoCover’s published rate, four seven-day policies cost about ₹4,068.

SOLO TRAVEL

Solo Travellers

  • A single-traveller supplement applies, because per-person prices assume twin-sharing.
  • We do not have the amount to quote here.
  • Ask for it in writing before you compare quotes.

Your Georgia Budget Check, In Order

  1. Convert every lari figure at the rate on your booking day.
  2. Ask whether your package price is fixed in rupees, and what happens if the lari moves before you travel.
  3. Separate the package from the open lines: flights, entry costs, shopping, activities and tips.
  4. Add the e-Visa and insurance for every traveller.
  5. Add 2% tax collected at source on the package value.
  6. Pick a daily lari cash number and read it off the table above.
  7. Add about 4.1% card charges on anything you pay by card.
  8. Check the season before you fix dates, using our best time to visit Georgia page.

Do steps 1 to 4 before you buy non-refundable flights.

Mistakes That Cost Money

  • Comparing a lari price from last year with today’s rupee cost.
  • Dividing the Geostat average spend by nights to get a daily budget.
  • Skipping the tax-free receipt on a purchase above GEL 200.
  • Opening the sealed tax-free bag before you leave Georgia.
  • Paying for four family e-Visas as if they were one.
  • Comparing two quotes without checking whether flights and extras are included.
  • Withdrawing cash on a credit card at a Georgian ATM.

Frequently Asked Questions

Yes, in rupees.

The official rate moved from GEL 3.0692 to GEL 2.7181 per 100 INR between 1 October 2025 and 1 October 2026.

An unchanged lari price therefore costs about 12.9% more, and about 19% more if it rose with inflation.

Will A Weaker Rupee Change My Package Price After I Pay?

We could not confirm this for any package.

Ask your operator in writing whether the price is fixed in rupees once you pay.

Ask what happens if the rate moves before you travel.

Is The Average Georgia Visitor Spend A Good Budget Guide?

No.

Geostat's GEL 2,187.3 per visit in 2025 covers all nationalities and does not list India.

Use it as a benchmark and build your own budget from the table above.

How Much Cash Should I Carry Per Day?

Use the table above, and pick the lari figure that matches your shopping and activity plans.

If you carry more than GEL 30,000 or the equivalent, Canada's travel advice says you must declare it to customs.

GEL 30,000 is about ₹11.04 lakh.

Do Tourists Pay VAT On Shopping In Georgia?

You can claim it back on goods above GEL 200 excluding VAT per receipt.

The Revenue Service says you must claim within 3 months and take the goods out of Georgia unused and sealed.

Ask the shop for the tax-free receipt before you pay.

How Many E-Visa And Insurance Fees Does A Family Pay?

One of each per person, including children.

A family of four pays about ₹7,820 in e-Visa fees at the official US20.40,orabout₹13,568withthereportedUS15 identity check.

Add four insurance policies that each show the seven mandatory details.

We found no 2026 change, so check the fare at the station.

Are Georgia Hotel Prices Rising In 2026?

PMCG reports its hotel price index up 8.4% year on year in June 2026.

It reports average room rates from GEL 128 to GEL 494 a night, about ₹4,709 to ₹18,174.

PMCG does not publish its method on the page we opened, so check live prices for your dates.

Is Georgia Cheaper Than Europe For Indian Travellers?

We could not confirm it.

We found no trusted like-for-like comparison, and a weaker rupee changes the answer every month.

Compare written quotes for the same dates, hotel level and inclusions.

Does Travelling In Winter Lower My Georgia Costs?

We could not confirm it.

We found no trusted published seasonal price data for Georgia.

Ask for a quote by month, and ask for the road-closure plan in writing if your route includes Kazbegi.

Will My Indian Card Work Everywhere In Georgia?

Not everywhere.

Canada's Georgia travel advice warns that cards may not work in rural areas.

A standard Indian card also adds about 4.1% on every lari you spend, so carry some cash for villages and small shops.

Is There An Extra Charge For Travelling Solo?

Yes.

Per-person prices assume twin-sharing, so a single-traveller supplement applies.

Ask for the amount in writing before you decide.

Georgia Honeymoon Cost From India The Full Total For Two (2026)

How Much Does a Georgia Honeymoon Cost for Two from India?

A Georgia e-Visa fee is lost if the name on your visa does not match your passport.

The official portal says the fee is not refundable in that case, or if you are denied, or if you never use the visa.

For newlyweds with a changed passport name, that is a real risk.

Then every other cost in a couple’s budget doubles: two e-Visas, two insurance policies, two sets of card charges.

Tax collected at source takes 2% of your package on the day you pay.

This roadmap totals every line for two people, current as of 1 October 2026.

What A Georgia Honeymoon Costs For Two

What A Georgia Honeymoon Costs For Two

Your total has five parts.

  • Package: priced per person, twin-sharing, so you pay two prices.
  • Entry: two e-Visas and two insurance policies.
  • Tax and card charges: 2% tax on the package and a markup on every card payment.
  • Flights: priced separately, for two seats.
  • Spending money: shopping, activities and extras in lari.

The formula is: (package × 2) + entry for two + tax and card charges + two flights + spending money.

We do not quote package prices here, because the figure depends on your dates and route.

Get a written quote and drop it into the worksheet below.

All rupee figures use the National Bank of Georgia’s official rate: 100 INR = 2.7181 GEL and US$1 = GEL 2.6047.

That makes GEL 1 about ₹36.79 and US$1 about ₹95.83.

Rates move daily, so redo the sums on the day you pay.

Entry Costs For Two Travellers

E-Visa Fees For A Couple

The official e-Visa FAQ states the fee as “20 USD + 2% service fee”.

That is US$20.40, or about ₹1,955 per person.

For two, it is about ₹3,910.

Wego’s guide, updated 29 April 2026, reports a separate US$15 DuVerify identity check, due within 24 hours.

The official FAQ does not list it, so confirm it on the portal when you apply.

With that check, the cost is about US$35.40 each, or about ₹6,785 for two.

Your card may add its own foreign-currency charge on top.

Each traveller needs a separate application, so one of you cannot apply for both on a single form.

Only Visa and Mastercard are accepted.

One of you can pay for both, because the portal does not require the card to be in the applicant’s name.

Your email verification expires in 1 hour, and payment must be made within 5 hours of the notification.

Miss either window and the application is cancelled.

The portal says a decision takes not less than 5 working days.

Wego reports a stay of up to 30 days within a 120-day window.

Wego also says Indian passport holders with a currently valid visa or residence permit from the US, UK, Schengen states, Canada, Australia, Japan, South Korea or the UAE can enter visa-free for up to 90 days in any 180.

If you qualify, you save the e-Visa cost, but not the insurance.

The Newlywed Name Trap

The portal lists three cases where the fee is lost: a denied application, an unused visa, and a mismatch between the visa and the travel document.

If your name changed after marriage, apply with the name printed in the passport you will fly on.

Enter a middle name after your given name with a space, and enter a single name in the surname field.

Your photo must be taken within the last 6 months and face the camera, with your head filling 50% to 70% of the frame height.

Use the same spelling on your hotel vouchers and insurance certificate.

At the border, your documents have to agree with each other.

Insurance For Two

Insurance For Two

Visit Georgia's explainer on the rule says every tourist needs cover of at least GEL 30,000 from 1 January 2026. That is about ₹11.04 lakh per person. It must cover your whole stay, from entry to departure.

  • The parties to the contract
  • The territory covered
  • The subject of insurance
  • The start and end dates
  • The insured risks and limits
  • The premium amount and payment terms

Couple check: the exemptions listed are diplomatic and treaty cases, not visa-free entrants. Ask your insurer to name both of you and to show the limit for each person.

The Package Line For A Couple

The Package Line For A Couple

What A Roaming Legs Package Prepays

A Roaming Legs Georgia package includes 5-star hotels, a private vehicle for the full trip and full-board meals.

It also includes a private airport transfer.

Visa assistance is free, and you pay only the government fee.

Honeymoon trips are built for two, with quiet mountain stays and private transfers between destinations.

Prices are per person on a twin-sharing basis, so a couple pays twice the per-person figure and no single supplement.

For the general cost picture, read Georgia trip cost from India.

Costs That Sit Outside The Price

These items are not part of the package price:

  • the e-Visa fees and insurance for both of you
  • tax collected at source
  • card charges
  • your spending money in lari

Ask in writing whether your quote includes flights for both of you.

Ask for a price on every optional extra, such as paragliding in Gudauri, cable car tickets or a private wine tasting in Kakheti.

Ask whether the price changes with your travel month, and compare months in our guide to the best time to visit Georgia.

Flight Fare Check

Check Flights Before You Price The Trip

We found no trusted published fare for India to Tbilisi, so we quote none. IndiGo's own releases show Delhi-Tbilisi flights from 2023 and Mumbai-Tbilisi from August 2025, but we could not confirm that either is running now.

Flight rule: check the airline's booking page for your dates, and read how to reach Georgia from India for routes.

Tax, Cards And Cash For Two

The 2% TCS On A Couple’s Package

Standard Chartered’s notice on the revised rules says tax collected at source on overseas tour packages is a flat 2% on each remittance, with no threshold, from 1 April 2026.

KPMG’s Union Budget 2026-27 note confirms the cut, and Careers360 reports the old rates were 5% up to ₹10 lakh and 20% above.

On an illustrative ₹3,00,000 package for two, the tax is ₹6,000.

It is not a fee.

You claim it as a credit when you file your income tax return.

It still leaves your account on the day you pay, so ask for it as a separate line on the invoice.

Card Charges On Honeymoon Spending

SBI Card’s published terms list a foreign-currency markup of 3.5% on most cards, and 1.99% on a few premium ones.

GST is charged on top of fees.

Spend ₹60,000 in lari on a standard card and the markup is ₹2,100 before GST.

A cash advance costs 2.5% with a minimum of ₹500.

Finance charges of 3.75% a month on unsecured cards run from the withdrawal date.

A ₹10,000 withdrawal therefore costs ₹500, which is 5%, before finance charges.

SBI Card’s terms page carries no date, and other banks differ, so read your own card’s terms before you fly.

Cash Limits For Two

The RBI’s forex FAQ, updated 28 November 2025, allows foreign currency notes up to US$3,000 per person per visit.

For two, that is US$6,000, or about ₹5.75 lakh.

The rest must go on a card or as traveller’s cheques.

Forex bought for ₹50,000 or more must be paid for by cheque, draft or card, not cash.

Foreign exchange above US10,000,orforeigncurrencynotesaboveUS5,000, must be declared to Customs.

Unspent foreign currency must be surrendered within 180 days of your return, apart from US$2,000 you may keep.

In Georgia, Canada’s travel advice says you must declare more than GEL 30,000, about ₹11.04 lakh, to customs.

It also warns that cards may not be widely accepted in rural areas.

Keep some lari or dollars for the mountain leg.

What Georgia’s Own Data Says About Spending

Geostat’s 2025 inbound tourism release, published 30 January 2026, gives an average spend of GEL 2,187.3 per visit.

That is about ₹80,500, over an average stay of 5.6 nights.

It covers all nationalities and has no India-specific figure.

Treat it as a benchmark, not a budget for two.

Category Share of spend
Shopping 28.4%
Accommodation 25.4%
Food and drinks 23.3%
Leisure and cultural activities 13.0%
Local transport 8.7%
Other 1.2%

Accommodation, food and local transport make up 57.4%.

A package with full board and a private vehicle moves most of that share into your prepaid price.

The open lines are shopping, activities and extras, so give them their own number in your budget.

Where A Honeymoon Budget Breaks

Hospitals Ask For Payment First

Canada’s advice says medical services can be expensive and immediate cash payment is often required.

The GEL 30,000 minimum is a legal floor, not a plan.

Check that your policy covers hospital stays and evacuation, and keep the claim documents.

Winter Closures On The Kazbegi Leg

On 10 February 2026, Georgia’s Roads Department banned all vehicles on the Gudauri–Kobi section, kilometres 93 to 107, because of avalanche danger, Georgia Today reported.

It said the Mleta–Gudauri stretch was open only for non-stop transit.

Kazbegi sits beyond that stretch.

For a winter honeymoon, ask for the closure plan in writing, and ask who pays for an extra night if the road shuts.

The After-Midnight Landing

If you land after midnight, your first hotel night and your insurance start date are the landing date.

Match both to your arrival, not to the day you left India.

Honeymoon Budget Checklist

Your Honeymoon Budget Worksheet, Step By Step

  1. Get a written package quote for two, and note what it includes and excludes.
  2. Add the e-Visa for two at about ₹3,910, or about ₹6,785 with the reported DuVerify check.
  3. Add insurance for two at your insurer's quoted premium.
  4. Add 2% of the package value as TCS.
  5. Add two flight fares for your dates and route.
  6. Add card charges at 3.5% plus GST on everything you pay by card, or your own card's rate.
  7. Set a separate number for shopping, activities and extras.
  8. Convert every lari figure again on the day you pay.

Booking rule: do steps 2 to 4 before you buy non-refundable flights.

Mistakes That Cost Couples Money

  • Applying with a name that differs from the passport you will fly on.
  • Paying for the e-Visa with a RuPay-only card.
  • Missing the 1-hour email window or the 5-hour payment window.
  • Buying insurance for one of you, or a policy that lacks the required details.
  • Withdrawing cash on a credit card at a Georgian ATM.
  • Carrying more than US$3,000 each in notes out of India.
  • Comparing two quotes without checking whether flights and extras are in both.

Frequently Asked Questions

Will My E-Visa Work If My Passport Name Changed After Marriage?

Only if the name on the e-Visa matches the passport you travel on.

The portal says the fee is not refundable for a mismatch between the visa and the travel document.

Apply with the name printed in your current passport.

Do We Each Need A Separate E-Visa?

Yes.

The portal says each traveller must obtain a separate e-Visa.

Each application needs its own passport details and photo.

Can One Of Us Pay For Both E-Visas?

Yes.

The portal asks for a Visa or Mastercard, not a card in the applicant's name.

Have the card ready before you start, because email verification expires in 1 hour.

How Much Is The Georgia E-Visa Fee For Two In Rupees?

About ₹3,910 on the official fee of US$20.40 each.

About ₹6,785 if the US$15 DuVerify check that Wego reports applies to both of you.

Confirm the extra step on the portal when you apply.

Do We Each Need GEL 30,000 Of Insurance?

Yes, the rule applies to every tourist.

GEL 30,000 is about ₹11.04 lakh per person.

Ask for a certificate that shows both names and a limit for each.

How Much TCS Will We Pay On A ₹3,00,000 Package?

₹6,000, at a flat 2% from 1 April 2026.

It is collected when you pay.

Ask for it as a separate line on the invoice.

Which Of Us Gets The TCS Credit?

We could not confirm this from an official source.

Ask your seller and your tax adviser before you pay.

Keep the invoice and the TCS certificate with your return papers.

How Much Foreign Cash Can We Carry Between Us?

Up to US$3,000 each in notes, so US$6,000 for two.

Anything above US$5,000 in notes, or above US$10,000 in total forex, must be declared to Customs.

Put the rest on a card.

Should We Withdraw Cash On A Credit Card In Georgia?

No.

SBI Card charges 2.5% with a ₹500 minimum, and finance charges start on the withdrawal date.

A ₹10,000 withdrawal costs ₹500 before finance charges.

Does The Average Visitor Spend Apply To Us?

Only as a benchmark.

Geostat's GEL 2,187.3 per visit, about ₹80,500, covers all nationalities.

Your package prepays most accommodation, food and transport, so your own number is shopping, activities and extras.

Are Flights Included In A Honeymoon Quote?

Ask in writing, because quotes differ.

We could not confirm that any nonstop from India is running now.

Check the airline's booking page for your dates before you budget a fare.

What Does A Medical Emergency Cost Up Front?

Canada's advice says immediate cash payment is often required.

We found no published tariff.

Carry a card with room on it, and keep the insurer's helpline number with you.

"Georgia 10-Day Trip Cost From India: The Full Budget, Line By Line "

How Much Does a 10-Day Georgia Trip Cost from India?

Your Georgia package price is not your 10-day cost.

Georgia’s e-Visa fee is US$20 plus a 2% service fee, and the official portal says it is not refunded.

Every tourist also needs insurance of at least GEL 30,000, about ₹11.04 lakh, covering all 10 days from arrival to departure.

On top of the package, your Indian seller collects 2% tax at source, which is ₹4,000 on a ₹2,00,000 booking.

Flights sit outside the package price, and we could not confirm a current nonstop from India.

This roadmap builds your 10-day total line by line, current as of 1 October 2026.

What A 10-Day Georgia Trip Costs In Total

Your total is the package price plus six other lines.

Only one of them, the package, comes from your operator.

What A 10-Day Georgia Trip Costs In Total
Cost Line Who Sets It What We Verified
Package, 9 nights, twin-sharing Your operator Price [INPUT REQUIRED]
TCS on the package Indian seller 2% of the package
E-visa fee Georgian government US$20.40, about ₹1,955
Mandatory insurance Your insurer Cover of GEL 30,000 or more
Flights Airline Not in the package
Cash and extras You Depends on your choices

We converted every amount at the National Bank of Georgia’s official rates on 1 October 2026.

On that day, 1 US dollar was 2.6047 lari and 100 rupees were 2.7181 lari.

That makes US$1 about ₹95.83 and 1 lari about ₹36.79.

Rates move daily, so treat each rupee figure as approximate.

We found no official price list for flights or insurance premiums.

So this blog shows you how to price them instead of guessing.

A longer trip dilutes the fixed costs.

The visa fee is about ₹196 a day over 10 days, and about ₹391 a day over 5.

The Cost Stack Line By Line

The Cost Stack Line By Line

The Package Price And What Full Board Covers

Roaming Legs’ 10-day route covers Tbilisi, Kakheti, Gudauri, Kazbegi, Borjomi and Batumi.

It runs about 900 km by private vehicle, with 5-star hotels and full board.

Prices are per person on a twin-sharing basis.

Roaming Legs charges nothing for visa assistance, so you pay only the government fee.

The final per-person price for 10 days is [INPUT REQUIRED].

Ask for these answers in writing before you compare any two quotes:

  • Does full board include drinks?
  • Does it include meals on the two longest drive days?
  • Which entrance fees and activities are already paid?
  • Is the Gergeti church 4×4 in the price or an extra?
  • Are cable car rides and wine tastings in the price or extras?

A package with a lower headline price can simply leave more of these on your tab.

Flights Are Not In The Price

Flights are an optional add-on, not part of the package.

IndiGo began Delhi–Tbilisi flights in August 2023.

It then cancelled Tbilisi flights from 26 January 2026, citing tensions around Iran, as National Herald reported.

Later reports extended the cancellations to 28 March 2026.

We found no confirmed resumption.

We also found no airline or government source listing current fares.

So here is how to price it:

  • Check the airline’s own booking page for your exact dates.
  • Compare the total fare with baggage, not the headline fare.
  • Ask whether a flight added to your package is quoted per person with taxes.
  • Do not buy a non-refundable fare before your e-Visa decision.

The portal says a decision takes not less than 5 working days.

If you land after midnight, your insurance and first hotel night must start on the landing date.

The E-Visa Fee In Rupees

Georgia gives Indian passport holders no visa on arrival.

The official e-Visa portal FAQ states the fee as “20 USD + 2% service fee”.

That is US$20.40, about ₹1,955 per applicant.

The portal says the fee is not refundable.

It also says the applicant is responsible for any mistakes in the application.

You must pay by Visa or MasterCard within 5 hours of the email notification.

Miss the window and the application is cancelled.

A RuPay-only card will not work.

Wego reports a separate US$15 DuVerify identity check.

The portal FAQ we opened does not mention it, so confirm it on the portal before you pay.

With it, the total would be US$35.40, about ₹3,392.

Wego’s 2026 guide also says a currently valid visa or residence permit from countries such as the US, UK, Schengen states, Canada, Australia, Japan, South Korea and the UAE allows visa-free entry.

If you hold one, your visa line is ₹0.

Budget the fee for every traveller, including children.

Insurance Requirement

Insurance Cover Of GEL 30,000 For All 10 Days

Visit Georgia states that all tourists entering Georgia from 1 January 2026 need insurance of at least GEL 30,000. At the 1 October 2026 rate, that is about ₹11.04 lakh of cover.

What The Policy Must Cover

  • The cover must run from arrival to departure.
  • On this route, that means 10 days on one policy with no gaps.
  • The policy can be Georgian or foreign.
  • It can be in Georgian or English, on paper or on screen.

Seven Details To Check

  • The parties to the contract
  • The covered territory
  • The subject of insurance
  • The start and end dates
  • The insured risks
  • The coverage limits
  • The premium amount and payment terms

Buying rule: get quotes for your exact 10 dates and pay only after the certificate shows all seven items. The GEL 30,000 minimum is a legal floor, not a medical plan. Canada's travel advice for Georgia says medical services can be expensive, upfront payment is often required, and medical evacuation cover is advised. Whether Roaming Legs recommends or arranges an insurer is [INPUT REQUIRED].

The 2% TCS On Your Package

India’s Income Tax Department Section 394 table sets TCS on an overseas tour programme package at 2%.

It covers packages including expenses for travel, hotel stay, boarding or lodging.

The rate applies from 1 April 2026 and has no threshold.

Before that, it was 5% up to ₹10 lakh and 20% above.

KPMG’s Union Budget 2026-27 tourism note confirms the cut to 2%.

On an illustrative ₹2,00,000 package, TCS is ₹4,000.

The seller collects it when you pay.

It shows in your Form 26AS, and you claim it against your income tax in your return.

Ask for TCS as a separate line on your invoice.

Because the section includes travel expenses, ask whether your flight sits on the same invoice as the package.

If it does, TCS applies to that amount too.

Cash, Cards And The Declaration Limit

The currency is the lari.

Canada’s travel advice says credit cards may not be widely accepted in rural areas.

On this route, Kazbegi, Kakheti and Borjomi sit outside the two big cities.

Carry lari cash for those stops.

Use licensed exchange counters only.

The same advice says you must declare to customs cash or instruments above GEL 30,000 or the equivalent.

That is about ₹11.04 lakh.

Most travellers will never reach it, but a family pooling cash can.

Optional extras are usually quoted in lari.

Convert them at the day’s rate before you compare them with your rupee budget.

What Moves Your 10-Day Number

What Moves Your 10-Day Number

Season And Travel Month

Package prices can differ by travel month.

Ask for the price for your exact month in writing, not a yearly “from” figure.

For winter, ask what happens to the Kazbegi leg if the road shuts.

On 10 February 2026, Georgia’s Roads Department banned all vehicles on the Gudauri–Kobi section because of avalanche danger, Georgia Today reported.

Ask who pays for any change to hotels or transfers.

Travelling Solo

Package prices assume two people sharing a room.

A solo traveller pays a single supplement.

The supplement amount is [INPUT REQUIRED].

Visa and insurance are per person, so a solo traveller pays them in full too.

10-Day Route Check

Route Changes And The 900 Km Of Driving

The 10-day route is the 7-day route plus Batumi and Borjomi. It spends 3 nights in Batumi. The drive from Tbilisi to Batumi is 372 km, about 5 hours 40 minutes via the E60 through Kutaisi.

  • 7-day route plus Batumi
  • Borjomi included
  • 3 nights in Batumi
  • 372 km to Batumi
  • About 5 hr 40 min drive

Route rule: the standard route returns to Tbilisi by road. If you would rather skip that drive, ask for a priced alternative in writing, because it is not part of the standard route. Dropping Batumi and Borjomi turns the trip into the 7-day route and changes the price. The full day-by-day plan is in our Georgia 10-day itinerary.

Budget Planning Checklist

Your Budget Planning Order, Step By Step

  1. Get the final per-person package price in writing, with the room basis stated.
  2. Ask for TCS as a separate invoice line and check that it is 2%.
  3. Ask for an itemised list of what the price includes and excludes.
  4. Fix your dates and check airline booking pages, without buying non-refundable fares.
  5. Check whether a valid foreign visa gives you visa-free entry.
  6. If not, apply for the e-Visa with a Visa or Mastercard and your email open.
  7. After approval, book flights and note your landing date.
  8. Buy insurance showing all seven details, from landing date to departure date.
  9. Plan lari cash for the rural legs, below the GEL 30,000 declaration limit.

Mistakes That Cost Money

  • Treating the package price as the total.
  • Buying non-refundable flights before the e-Visa decision.
  • Paying the e-Visa fee with a RuPay-only card.
  • Missing the 5-hour payment window and starting again.
  • Fixing a typo by reapplying, with no refund of the first fee.
  • Buying insurance that covers fewer than all 10 days.
  • Starting insurance on the departure date when you land after midnight.
  • Accepting a TCS charge that is not a separate invoice line.
  • Assuming a card will work at every stop.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does The 2% TCS Apply To My Whole Georgia Package?

Yes, to the package amount you pay.

The Section 394 table covers overseas tour programme packages, including travel, hotel and boarding expenses.

Ask for it as a separate invoice line so you can claim it.

Is The Georgia E-Visa Fee Refundable If I Cancel My Trip?

No.

The official portal says the e-Visa fee is not refundable.

Confirm your dates before you apply.

Can One Person Pay The E-Visa Fee For The Whole Family?

Yes, with a Visa or MasterCard.

The card does not need to be in the traveller's name.

Each traveller still needs a separate application and fee.

Will My RuPay Card Work For The E-Visa Payment?

No, not on its own.

The portal accepts only Visa or MasterCard.

Keep one ready before you start, because you have 5 hours to pay.

Does My Indian Insurance Policy Meet The GEL 30,000 Rule?

Only if it covers Georgia, shows at least GEL 30,000 and carries all seven mandatory details.

It must also cover your arrival and departure dates.

If an item is missing, buy a Georgian policy.

Does Insurance Have To Cover Every One Of The 10 Days?

Yes.

Visit Georgia says cover must run from arrival to departure.

If you land after midnight, start the policy on the landing date.

Can I Buy Flights Before The E-Visa Decision?

You can, but you carry the risk.

The portal says a decision takes not less than 5 working days, and it does not promise approval.

Wait for approval before buying non-refundable fares.

Is There A Direct Flight From India Right Now?

We could not confirm it.

IndiGo cancelled Tbilisi flights from 26 January 2026, and we found no confirmed restart.

Check the airline's booking page for your dates before you budget for a nonstop.

How Much Cash Can I Carry Into Georgia?

You must declare cash or instruments above GEL 30,000 or the equivalent.

That is about ₹11.04 lakh at the 1 October 2026 rate.

Below that, no declaration is needed under the limit Canada's advice reports.

Will My Cards Work Outside Tbilisi And Batumi?

Not reliably.

Canada's advice says cards may not be widely accepted in rural areas.

Carry lari for Kazbegi, Kakheti and Borjomi.

What Happens If I Need A Hospital In Georgia?

Expect to pay first.

Canada's advice says immediate upfront payment is often required.

Keep your insurer's helpline and policy certificate with you, and pick cover that includes evacuation.

What Should I Ask For In Writing Before I Pay?

Ask for five things:

  • the final per-person price for your month
  • the single supplement, if you travel alone
  • the itemised inclusions
  • the TCS line
  • the cancellation terms

Compare quotes only when all five match.

10-Day Cost Stack

Turn This Cost Stack Into Your Own Number

Your 10-day total is a sum, not a price. Take the package price you are quoted and add 2% TCS, about ₹1,955 for the visa, your insurance premium, flights and lari cash.

  • Package price
  • 2% TCS
  • About ₹1,955 visa
  • Insurance premium
  • Flights
  • Lari cash

Next step: share your dates and group size, and our team will call you back within 1 hour with a quote you can add up.

"Georgia 5-Day Trip Cost: Visa, Insurance, Tax And Flights Added Up "

Georgia 5-Day Trip Cost: What 4 Nights Really Add Up To

The Georgia e-Visa fee is non-refundable, even if your flight never flies.

The official portal says the fee is not returned if the visa is denied, unused or filed with an error.

Business Standard reported on 27 January 2026 that IndiGo cancelled its Tbilisi flights over Iran airspace tensions, and we could not confirm a restart.

Since 1 January 2026, every tourist also needs insurance of at least GEL 30,000, which is about ₹11 lakh of cover.

On 4 nights, those fixed costs weigh as much as on 10 nights, so they take a bigger share of your budget.

Add 2% tax collected at source on an overseas package, and the real total is higher than the package price.

This roadmap adds up the whole bill for a 5-day Georgia trip, current as of 1 October 2026.

What A 5-Day Georgia Trip Costs In Total

What A 5-Day Georgia Trip Costs In Total

The total is the land cost, plus flights, plus the e-Visa, plus insurance, plus tax collected at source (TCS).

The costs we can verify, excluding flights and land, come to about ₹2,300 to ₹3,800.

Our planning range for flights is ₹35,000 to ₹65,000 per person, return.

That puts your outlay at roughly ₹37,000 to ₹69,000 before the land cost and TCS.

No official source publishes hotel or meal prices for Georgia.

So we do not quote nightly rates, and the land section below shows how to price them instead.

All rupee figures use the National Bank of Georgia’s rate on 1 October 2026, which was ₹36.79 per lari and ₹95.83 per US dollar.

The bank calls its rate indicative, and it moves daily.

The Four Costs That Do Not Shrink With A Shorter Trip

The Four Costs That Do Not Shrink With A Shorter Trip

A visa, insurance and a return flight cost the same whether you stay 4 nights or 9.

Spread a ₹40,000 flight over 5 days and it is ₹8,000 a day.

Spread it over 10 days and it is ₹4,000 a day.

That is why a 5-day trip never feels cheap per day, even when the total is modest.

Flights

We could not confirm that IndiGo’s direct Tbilisi flights have restarted.

Check goindigo.in for your exact dates before you plan around a nonstop.

No official source publishes fares for this route.

Skyscanner lists Delhi–Tbilisi returns from ₹39,556 on one date, and treat that as a listing, not a quote.

A competitor blog from February 2026 puts connecting fares at ₹32,000 to ₹38,000.

Neither figure is a fare you can rely on, so price your own dates on an airline site.

Our guide to how to reach Georgia from India covers the routes.

E-Visa And The Non-Refundable Fee

The official e-Visa portal charges US$20 plus a 2% service fee.

That is US$20.40, or about ₹1,955.

Wego’s guide, updated on 29 April 2026, reports a separate US$15 identity check called DuVerify.

With it, the total is about US$35.40, or ₹3,392.

The portal pages we opened do not mention DuVerify, so confirm it when you apply.

The portal says a decision takes not less than 5 working days.

Wego reports the visa allows 30 days within a 120-day window from approval.

The fee is not refunded if the visa is unused.

So confirm your flights before you pay for the visa.

Roaming Legs does not add a service charge for visa assistance, so you pay only the government fee.

Our Georgia visa guide for Indians covers documents and timing.

Mandatory Insurance

Georgia’s insurance rule took effect on 1 January 2026.

The minimum cover is GEL 30,000, which is about ₹11 lakh.

It must cover the whole stay, from arrival to departure.

The policy must be in Georgian or English, on paper or on screen.

Irao, a Georgian insurer, says its visitor policy starts from GEL 2 per day.

For 5 days, that is about GEL 10, or ₹368.

That is a starting price, so a policy with hospital and evacuation cover will cost more.

If you hold an Indian policy, check that it states the amount, the dates and the territory.

Budget Worksheet

Your Budget Worksheet, Step By Step

  1. Get a written package quote, and ask what it includes and excludes.
  2. Add the e-Visa at about ₹3,392, plus about ₹140 in card charges.
  3. Add insurance at your quoted premium, for example ₹1,017 to ₹1,472 for seven days on GeoCover's lists.
  4. Add TCS at 2% of the package value.
  5. Add your flight fare for your dates and route.
  6. Add card charges at about 4.1% of every amount you pay by card.
  7. Set a separate cash number for shopping, activities and extras.
  8. Re-convert every lari figure on your booking day.

Planning rule: do steps 2 to 4 before you buy non-refundable flights.

Travel Readiness Checklist

Your Planning Order, Step By Step

  1. Read the FCDO, US and Canadian advisories for your dates.
  2. Check your airline's notice for your route.
  3. Complete visa and insurance steps using our visa guide.
  4. Plan forex within the US$3,000 note limit and carry a card for the rest.
  5. Check whether your operator's roaming pack covers Georgia.
  6. Fix your airport pickup against your landing time.
  7. Note your landing day, because banks shut at 14:00 on Saturdays.
  8. See your doctor about hepatitis A and rabies.
  9. Save 112 and the embassy numbers offline.

What The Land Portion Can Look Like

The land portion is hotels, transport, meals and sightseeing for 4 nights.

On the 5-day route, that is Tbilisi and Kazbegi.

You can buy it as a package or book every piece yourself.

If You Book A Package

Roaming Legs’ 5-day route covers Tbilisi and Kazbegi.

It includes 5-star hotels, a private vehicle and full-board meals.

A private airport transfer is part of every package.

Flights are optional, so they are not in the land price unless you ask for them.

Our team gives you the exact 5-day price for your dates.

A single-traveller supplement applies if you travel alone, so ask for that figure too.

See the 5-day Georgia itinerary for the route.

If You Book Everything Yourself

Price each night, each transfer and each meal on the supplier’s own site.

Then add the Tbilisi to Kazbegi drive, which a private vehicle or a shared van covers.

Georgia Today, citing national statistics office Geostat, reports an average of GEL 2,187 per international visitor per trip in 2025.

That is about ₹80,460, over an average stay of 5.6 nights.

The figure covers all visitors, mostly from neighbouring countries.

It is a reference point for ground spending, not an Indian package price.

Use it to sense-check your own total, not to set your budget.

See Georgia trip cost from India for the cost picture across trip lengths.

Cash, Cards And Hospital Payment

Canada’s Georgia advice says medical services can be expensive.

It adds that immediate up-front payment is often required.

It also warns that credit cards may not work in rural areas.

Kazbegi is a rural stop, so carry some cash for it.

Keep enough card limit free for a hospital deposit.

The insurance reimburses you later, but the hospital may ask you to pay first.

Canada’s advice also says medical evacuation can be very costly.

A policy that only meets the GEL 30,000 floor may leave a gap.

Canada’s advice also says you must declare cash above GEL 30,000 to customs, so keep your cash well below that.

Count Usable Days, Not Days On The Ticket

A 5-day trip has 4 hotel nights, and the first and last days are partly lost to flights.

IndiGo’s 2025 Mumbai schedule landed in Tbilisi at 14:00 and left at 15:00 on the return.

That schedule is from 2025, and the route is not confirmed for now.

It still shows the point: your flight times decide how many sightseeing hours you pay for.

A late-night landing can mean paying for a hotel night you barely use.

Ask which date your first hotel night starts, and check that your insurance starts the same day.

Choose flights that land by afternoon and leave late, if the fare allows.

The Winter Road Risk To Your Budget

On 10 February 2026, Georgia Today reported a ban on all vehicles on the Gudauri–Kobi section, km 93 to 107.

The reason was avalanche danger.

Traffic on the Mleta–Gudauri stretch was allowed only on a non-stop transit basis.

Kazbegi sits beyond that stretch, so a closure can cut it off.

A 4-night trip has no spare day to absorb that.

If you travel between November and March, ask in writing what happens if the road closes.

Ask whether you get a replacement day, a refund or a changed route.

We have not confirmed any winter-road capability for Roaming Legs trips, so do not assume one.

Our best time to visit Georgia page shows what each season allows.

Booking Checklist

Your Planning Order, Step By Step

  1. Fix your travel dates and price flights on the airline's own site.
  2. Confirm that your flights are on sale and not cancelled.
  3. Ask for the 5-day land price and the single-traveller supplement.
  4. Ask whether TCS is a separate line and whether the flight is in the invoice.
  5. Apply for the e-Visa once your flights are firm.
  6. Buy insurance showing at least GEL 30,000 from arrival to departure.
  7. Keep a card limit free for a hospital deposit and carry some cash.

Mistakes That Cost Money

  • Paying for the e-Visa before your flight is confirmed.
  • Planning around a direct flight that is not on sale.
  • Buying insurance that starts after you land.
  • Leaving TCS off your budget.
  • Choosing a policy that only meets the GEL 30,000 floor.
  • Booking a winter Kazbegi trip with no written closure plan.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is The Georgia E-Visa Fee Refundable If My Flight Is Cancelled?

No.

The official portal says the fee is not returned if the visa is denied, unused or filed with an error.

Confirm your flights before you pay.

How Much Is The Georgia E-Visa In Rupees?

The official fee is US$20.40, about ₹1,955.

Wego reports a further US$15 DuVerify check, taking the total to about ₹3,392.

Treat the rupee figures as approximate, because the rate moves daily.

When Should I Apply For A 4-Night Trip?

The portal says a decision takes not less than 5 working days.

Wego reports a 30-day stay within a 120-day window from approval.

Apply after your flights are firm, and not earlier than your trip needs.

How Much Does The Mandatory Insurance Cost For 5 Days?

Irao says its visitor policy starts from GEL 2 per day.

For 5 days, that is about GEL 10, or ₹368.

A policy with hospital and evacuation cover will cost more.

Does My Indian Travel Policy Meet The GEL 30,000 Rule?

Only if it states at least GEL 30,000 and covers arrival to departure.

It must show the parties, territory, risks, limits, dates and premium.

If anything is missing, buy a Georgian policy.

Is TCS Charged On My Georgia Package?

Yes, at 2%.

Section 394 sets the rate for an overseas tour package.

Claim it in your income-tax return, and ask for it as a separate line.

Does The 2% TCS Apply To The Flight In My Package?

It can.

Section 394 defines the package to include travel and hotel stay.

Ask the seller whether the flight is in the invoice.

Does The 20% LRS Tax Apply To A 5-Day Trip?

Not unless your foreign remittance passes ₹10 lakh.

Section 394 shows 20% above that threshold for purposes other than education or medical care.

A 5-day trip normally stays well below it.

Do I Need Cash, Or Will Cards Work?

Carry both.

Canada's advice says cards may not work in rural areas.

Carry some cash for Kazbegi.

Who Pays The Hospital First?

You may have to.

Canada's advice says up-front payment is often required.

Keep card headroom free, then claim from your insurer.

Is There A Single-Traveller Supplement On A 5-Day Package?

Yes.

Roaming Legs' per-person prices assume two people sharing.

Ask for the supplement amount when you enquire.

Will A Road Closure Add Hotel Costs?

It can, in winter.

On 10 February 2026, a section of the Kazbegi road was closed to all vehicles for avalanche danger.

Ask in writing who pays for an extra night.

Is There A Direct Flight From India Right Now?

We could not confirm it.

Business Standard reported IndiGo's Tbilisi cancellations in January 2026, and we found no official restart.

Check goindigo.in for your exact dates.

Georgia Trip Cost Breakdown from India: Every Line Item In Rupees (2026)

Is Travel Insurance Mandatory for Indians Visiting Georgia in 2026?

Georgia’s insurance rule publishes no penalty, and that is exactly what makes it risky.

Since 1 January 2026, every tourist needs health and accident cover of at least GEL 30,000, about ₹11 lakh at today’s official rate.

The UK government says you may be asked for proof at airline check-in, before you reach Tbilisi.

Without it, you “may encounter difficulties entering”.

The official exemption list names no children and no visa-free entrants.

Your certificate must also show seven printed details.

This roadmap shows what to buy, what to check and what to carry, current as of 1 October 2026.

The Rule In Force Since 1 January 2026

What The Official Notice Says

Visit Georgia’s explainer, published 14 January 2026, gives the rule.

Tourists entering Georgia need insurance of “no less than 30,000 GEL”.

Cover must run for the entire stay, from arrival to departure.

The insurer can be Georgian or foreign.

The policy must be available in Georgian or English.

It can be on paper or on screen.

The legal base is Article 12 of the Law of Georgia on Tourism, which says tourists must have health and accident insurance.

Article 14 also obliges tourism traders to give tourists information about the terms of the mandatory insurance before they contract.

The only fine in the English text of the Law we opened is GEL 500, and it applies to tourism businesses operating without registration, not to tourists.

That article was first due on 1 June 2024.

Parliament suspended it until 1 January 2026, and Interpressnews reported the reason as the private sector not being ready.

The Georgian Embassy in Norway’s notice of 30 December 2025 repeats the same terms.

Who Is Exempt And Who Is Not

The official exemptions are narrow:

  • holders of diplomatic or special visas
  • holders of diplomatic, official, service or special passports
  • accredited embassy and consulate staff and their families
  • people entering under international treaties
  • international road freight and passenger drivers

An Indian tourist is on none of these lists.

Visa-free entry through a valid US, UK or Schengen visa does not appear as an exemption.

Children do not appear either.

Travel Insurance Check

What GEL 30,000 Means In Rupees

The National Bank of Georgia's official rate on 1 October 2026 is 100 INR = 2.7181 GEL. That puts GEL 30,000 at about ₹11.04 lakh.

  • Check your medical limit
  • Convert on purchase day
  • Keep a margin above the line
What Your Policy Certificate Must Show

What Your Policy Certificate Must Show

The certificate must carry these seven details:

  • the parties to the contract
  • the covered territory
  • the subject of insurance
  • the start and end dates of cover
  • the insured risks
  • the coverage limits
  • the premium amount, payment place and payment terms

The official e-Visa portal FAQ adds two conditions.

Cover must pay “any cost related to condition of his health and death”.

It must also be “valid on whole territory of Georgia”.

The same FAQ lists insurance among five documents you bring to the border.

The other four are your passport, proof of travel purpose, proof of accommodation and proof of funds.

Check each item against your certificate before you pay.

Where And When Your Proof Gets Checked

At Airline Check-In In India

The UK FCDO entry page, updated 15 September 2026, says you may be asked for evidence at airline check-in or at Georgian immigration.

It says travellers without proof may encounter difficulties entering.

So your first check may happen at your Indian departure airport.

A certificate buried in an email attachment is a risk at that counter.

At Tbilisi Immigration

The portal FAQ says insurance is among the documents you present at the border.

Your insurance dates must match your flight dates and your hotel dates.

Mismatched papers invite questions.

What We Could Not Confirm

  • Penalty: The official notices publish none, and Georgia Today reported in December 2025 that no fixed fine had been announced.
  • Fine claims: Some sites quote a GEL 300 fine, but they cite only other secondary sites, so we dropped it.
  • Enforcement strictness: We found no official statement on how strictly officers check.
  • Approved insurers: We found no official list of approved insurers, Indian or otherwise.
  • Border purchase: Georgian insurers say you can buy on the spot if asked, but no official source confirms it, so do not plan around it.
  • Portal upload: We could not confirm whether the e-Visa application asks for the policy.

Will Your Indian Policy Qualify?

The rule accepts a foreign insurer.

It does not name any Indian insurer, and it does not certify any policy in advance.

So the test is your certificate, not your insurer’s brand.

The Minimum Medical Limit

Georgia Today and Travel Trade Journal report two figures, GEL 5,000 for emergency outpatient care and GEL 30,000 for hospital treatment.

The official notices state only the GEL 30,000 minimum.

Buy a medical-expense limit of at least GEL 30,000, which satisfies both versions.

Family Floaters And Shared Limits

The rule is written per tourist.

We found no official statement allowing one shared limit across a family.

A floater policy shares one sum insured between members.

Ask the insurer to confirm in writing that each traveller carries at least GEL 30,000 of medical cover, or buy individual policies.

Dates, Territory And Late Landings

Cover must run from arrival to departure.

If your flight lands after midnight, your cover must start on the landing date.

If your return date shifts, your cover must still reach the day you leave.

Your policy must also list Georgia as covered territory.

Our guide to how to reach Georgia from India covers route timing.

Georgian Platforms If Your Certificate Falls Short

The e-Visa portal links two Georgian platforms, eInsurance.ge and eCover.ge.

Use them if your Indian certificate lacks any of the seven details.

Read the certificate again after purchase.

Why The Legal Minimum Is Not Enough For Kazbegi And Gudauri

Why The Legal Minimum Is Not Enough For Kazbegi And Gudauri

Hospitals Ask For Payment First

Canada’s Georgia travel advice says medical care can be expensive and immediate up-front cash payment is often required.

It also says rural areas have shortages of medical supplies and personnel.

The UK FCDO’s health advice says the UK has no reciprocal healthcare agreement with Georgia and that treatment must be paid for directly.

That means you pay at the hospital first and claim from your insurer afterwards.

Keep every itemised bill, receipt and doctor’s report, because the claim depends on them.

Carry an international-enabled card with enough headroom to cover an up-front payment.

Save 112 for an ambulance, as the UK FCDO lists it, and save your insurer’s assistance number from the certificate.

GEL 30,000 is a legal floor, not a plan.

Adventure Cover Check

Altitude, Adventure And Evacuation

The UK FCDO lists altitude sickness as a risk at ski resorts and around Kazbegi. Canada advises cover for medical evacuation, hospital stays and helicopter rescue for adventure activities.

  • Medical evacuation is covered.
  • Hospital stays are covered.
  • Your planned activity, such as skiing or paragliding, is not excluded.

The official Georgian notices set no sport exclusions. Your insurer's policy wording does, so get written confirmation before you buy.

Insurance Checklist

Your Insurance Planning Order

  1. Fix your dates and note your landing date and departure date.
  2. List every traveller, including children.
  3. Set a medical limit of at least GEL 30,000 per person, plus a margin.
  4. Read the policy wording for Georgia coverage, evacuation and activity exclusions.
  5. Buy the policy and open the certificate.
  6. Tick off the seven mandatory details and the English-language requirement.
  7. Switch to eInsurance.ge or eCover.ge if any detail is missing.
  8. Save a PDF on your phone and carry a printout in your cabin bag.
  9. Save 112 and your insurer's assistance number in your phone.
  10. Recheck your cover dates after any flight change.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is Travel Insurance Mandatory For Indians Visiting Georgia?

Yes.

Georgia has required it from every tourist since 1 January 2026.

Buy it before you fly.

Does The Rule Apply If I Enter Visa-Free On A US, UK Or Schengen Visa?

Yes.

The official notice says all tourists, and its exemption list does not include visa-free entrants.

Carry the certificate on both routes.

Do Children And Infants Need Their Own Policy?

Treat them as needing one.

The rule says all tourists, and the exemption list names no children.

We found no official ruling on children, so give each child a certificate with the full limit.

Can I Be Refused Entry Without Insurance?

The UK government says you may encounter difficulties entering.

Georgian notices publish no consequence, so we cannot say how strictly it is applied.

Do not fly without the certificate.

Is There A Fine For Travelling Without Insurance?

We found no official fine.

Georgia Today reported in December 2025 that none had been announced.

Treat figures quoted on other sites as unverified.

Does A Family Floater Policy Qualify?

Only if each traveller carries at least GEL 30,000 of cover.

The rule is written per tourist, and we found no shared-limit allowance.

Get the insurer's written confirmation before you buy.

Is An Indian Insurer's Policy Accepted Or Must It Be Georgian?

The rule accepts Georgian or foreign insurers.

We could not confirm that standard Indian certificates carry all seven details.

Check yours, and use eInsurance.ge or eCover.ge if it falls short.

Is A Phone Copy Enough Or Do I Need A Printout?

The official explainer accepts paper or screen.

A phone can lose battery or signal.

Carry both.

What If My Flight Is Delayed Or I Extend My Stay?

Cover must last until you depart.

A delayed or rebooked flight can push your departure past your end date.

Ask your insurer to extend before the policy expires.

Is The Minimum GEL 5,000 Or GEL 30,000?

The official notices say GEL 30,000.

Georgia Today and Travel Trade Journal report GEL 5,000 for outpatient care and GEL 30,000 for hospital treatment.

Buy a medical limit of at least GEL 30,000 to satisfy both.

Does Insurance Cover Paragliding Or Skiing In Gudauri?

Only if your policy says so.

The official notices set no sport exclusions, but your insurer's wording may.

Canada advises helicopter rescue and evacuation cover for adventure activities.

Should I Buy Insurance Before Or After My E-Visa Approval?

Buy it once your flight dates are fixed.

Cover must match your arrival and departure dates, and the portal says a decision takes not less than 5 working days.

We could not confirm that the application asks for the policy, so check the portal screens as you apply.

Can The Rule Change Before My Trip?

It has moved before.

It was due on 1 June 2024 and was suspended until 1 January 2026.

Recheck the Visit Georgia explainer the week you fly.

You can also call the Embassy of Georgia in New Delhi at 169 Jor Bagh, on +91 11 4949 6000.

Where Should I Keep The Certificate On Travel Day?

In your cabin bag, as a printout and as a PDF on your phone.

Airline check-in may ask for it.

The border officer may ask for it again in Tbilisi.

Georgia Visa Processing Time For Indians: The Real Timeline (2026)

How Long Does a Georgia e-Visa Take for Indians in 2026?

Georgia’s official e-Visa FAQ says a decision takes not less than 5 working days.

That is a floor, and one private visa site quotes it as a ceiling.

Miss the 1-hour email verification window, and your application is cancelled.

Miss the 5-hour payment window, and it is cancelled again.

Make an error after you submit, and you cannot edit it, so you start a new application and the 5-day floor starts again.

This roadmap shows how to time your application around those rules, current as of 1 October 2026.

How Long Does A Georgia Visa Take?

The official answer is not less than 5 working days.

No official maximum is published.

Plan for 5 working days as the earliest possible decision, not the usual one.

What The Official Portal Says

The official e-Visa FAQ says it takes not less than 5 working days to decide on a visa application.

The decision comes by email, to the address you used on the application.

The FAQ lists no paid fast-track option.

We found no official statement on what share of applications are decided at 5 days.

Why Other Sites Quote Different Numbers

One private “.info” site says “up to 5 business days”.

That reverses the official meaning.

Wego’s April 2026 guide for Indian travellers says 5 to 7 working days.

Wego is a reputed travel publisher, but it is not the issuing authority.

Use 5 working days as your earliest date and 7 as your planning figure.

Treat anything shorter than 5 as unsupported.

What Starts And Stops The Clock

What Starts And Stops The Clock

Your decision timeline has three timers before it and one calendar question inside it.

The 1-Hour Email Window

After you submit, you get a verification email.

The official FAQ says it is valid for 1 hour.

Verify after that, and the application is cancelled.

Open your inbox before you click submit, not after.

If the email does not arrive, check spam and use the resend option.

If it still does not arrive, the FAQ says to submit a new application with a different email address.

The 5-Hour Payment Window

After verification, you get a payment notification by email.

The state fee must be paid within 5 hours of that notification.

Pay late, and the application is cancelled.

Only Visa or Mastercard credit or debit cards are accepted.

A RuPay-only card will not work.

The card does not need to be in the applicant’s name.

One person can pay for a whole family from one card.

The DuVerify 24-Hour Step

Wego reports a separate DuVerify identity check with a US$15 fee.

Wego says it must be completed within 24 hours, or you restart.

We could not confirm this step on an official page we could open.

If you receive a DuVerify link, treat the 24 hours as a hard deadline until you read the instructions in that email.

Weekends And Georgian Public Holidays

The official wording is “working days”.

It does not say whether Georgian public holidays pause the count.

We could not confirm either way.

The dates that matter next are 14 October 2026 (Wednesday), 23 November 2026 (Monday), 1 and 2 January 2027, 7 January 2027 and 19 January 2027.

If a holiday falls inside your window, assume it adds a day.

Plan the extra day instead of testing the rule.

A late-December application for a January trip is the tightest case.

It meets 1 January, 2 January and 7 January inside the same fortnight.

The two that fall on weekdays can add up to two working days to your wait.

What A Restart Costs You

The FAQ says you cannot amend a submitted application.

You must create a new one.

The fee is US$20 plus 2%.

It is not refundable if you are denied.

It is not refundable if you never use the visa.

It is not refundable if you made an error on the application.

Every restart costs three things:

  • the fee again
  • a new 5-working-day floor
  • one more set of email and payment windows

On Wego’s figures, the DuVerify charge brings one attempt to about US35.40(US20.40 plus US$15).

Two attempts cost about US$70.80.

Each child needs a separate application, even on a parent’s passport.

A family of four that restarts once pays for eight applications.

When To Apply A Timeline Built Backwards From Your Flight
E-Visa Timeline

Apply Backwards From Your Flight

  • Plan around three weeks before departure, allowing one full restart before you fly.
  • Do not apply too early; validity and stay dates are different, so read the approved e-Visa dates.
  • Hold non-refundable bookings until approval, then print the e-Visa and match it to your itinerary.

How To Check Status And Who To Contact

Only the applicant or a legal representative can get information on an application.

The FAQ calls visa records confidential.

A relative or travel agent cannot chase your status for you.

The support desk is contact@evisa.gov.ge.

It answers Monday to Friday, 09:00 to 18:00 in Georgia (UTC+4).

That is 10:30 to 19:30 IST.

An email sent Friday evening in India waits until Monday.

If you lost your e-Visa email, the same desk is the route.

If your decision has not arrived, there is no published date after which an application counts as late.

We found no official escalation threshold.

Write to the support desk only after your own 7-working-day planning figure has passed, and quote the email address you applied with.

Look-Alike Sites And Fee Traps

Several results for this search are private sites on “.info” domains, not the government portal.

The government portal is evisa.gov.ge.

Check that the address bar reads evisa.gov.ge before you enter any passport details.

The Embassy of Georgia in India says the e-Visa needs no appointment and no embassy visit.

The official fee is US$20 plus 2%.

Add Wego’s reported US15DuVerifychargeandyoureachaboutUS35.40.

If a site quotes a much higher total, ask what the extra charge is for.

The official FAQ lists no agent fee.

For a full cost picture beyond the visa, see the Georgia trip cost from India.

Mistakes That Cost Money And Time

  • Opening the email after the 1-hour window has closed.
  • Paying with a RuPay card.
  • Waiting for a “typo fix” that the system does not allow.
  • Applying for the family on one application when each traveller needs a separate one.
  • Booking non-refundable flights before the approval email.
  • Applying more than four months ahead and missing the validity window.
  • Applying on a Friday evening and waiting for the support desk until Monday.
  • Treating “5 working days” as a guarantee.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is It "Not Less Than 5" Or "Up To 5" Working Days?

It is not less than 5.

The official FAQ uses that wording, and it sets a minimum.

Use 5 working days as your earliest date and plan for 7.

Can I Pay To Speed Up My Georgia e-Visa?

We found no paid fast-track option in the official FAQ.

The portal lists one fee: US$20 plus 2%.

Be cautious of any site that sells a faster decision.

Do Weekends And Georgian Holidays Count?

Weekends do not count, because the FAQ says working days.

We could not confirm whether public holidays pause the count.

Add a day if 14 October, 23 November or a January holiday falls in your window.

How Long Is My e-Visa Valid After Approval?

It depends on your passport country.

Wego reports 30 days within a 120-day window for Indians.

Read the exact first and last dates on your approved e-Visa.

I Made A Typo. Can I Correct It?

No.

The FAQ says you must create a new application.

Expect another fee and another 5-working-day floor.

What If I Miss The 1-Hour Or 5-Hour Window?

The application is cancelled.

Start a new one.

Have your card and inbox ready before you submit.

Does DuVerify Delay My Approval?

Wego reports a separate identity check of US$15, due within 24 hours.

We could not confirm this on an official page.

Complete it as soon as the link arrives.

Do I Get A Refund If The Visa Is Denied Or Arrives Too Late?

No.

The FAQ says the fee is not refundable if you are denied, never use the visa, or made an error.

Hold non-refundable bookings until you are approved.

Can A Relative Or Agent Check My Status?

No.

The FAQ says only the applicant or a legal representative can get information.

Use the support desk, 10:30 to 19:30 IST on weekdays.

Does Each Child Need A Separate Application?

Yes.

The FAQ says every traveller needs a separate e-Visa, regardless of age, including a child on a parent's passport.

Budget the fee once per person and submit them together.

Will A RuPay Card Work For Payment?

No.

The FAQ says payment is by Visa or Mastercard.

The card does not need to be in the applicant's name, so a family member's Visa or Mastercard works.

Should I Book Flights Before My e-Visa Is Approved?

Wait for approval if you can.

The fee is non-refundable and approval is not guaranteed.

If you must book early, choose a changeable fare and check the change fee first.

Does Applying Early Cost Me Days In Georgia?

It can cost you the chance to use the visa at all.

The FAQ says validity sets the first and last dates you can use the visa, and stay is counted within it.

A visa approved too early can expire before your trip begins.

Apply so your whole trip sits inside the printed dates.

Visa Exemption

Check Before You Skip E-Visa

  • Some valid foreign visas may remove Georgia e-Visa processing time.
  • Your foreign visa must be valid on your Georgia entry date.
  • Confirm eligibility with the Embassy of Georgia in India before skipping the application.
Georgia E-Visa For Indians: How To Apply, Fees And Deadlines (2026)

How Indians Can Apply for a Georgia e-Visa in 2026

Georgia’s e-Visa portal gives you 1 hour to verify your email.

Miss it, and the application is cancelled.

Payment must follow within 5 hours of the notification.

The fee is US$20 plus a 2% service fee, and the portal says it is non-refundable “in all circumstances”, including a denial.

Fix a typo after submitting, and you pay for a whole new application.

Wego reports a third clock, a US$15 identity check to finish within 24 hours.

This roadmap shows how to apply once and apply right, current as of 1 October 2026

Do You Need The E-Visa Or Can You Enter Visa-Free?

Most Indian passport holders apply for the e-Visa.

Georgia does not give Indians a visa on arrival.

A visa-free route exists for travellers who hold a currently valid foreign visa or residence permit.

BusinessToday reported in May 2025 that this covers the US, UK, Schengen Area and Japan.

Outlook Traveller attributed the announcement to the Georgian National Tourism Administration.

Wego’s 2026 guide lists about 15 countries instead.

We could not open an official list, so treat any list as unconfirmed.

Check your exact visa or permit with the embassy before you skip the e-Visa.

An expired visa does not count.

E-Visa Steps

Apply For Georgia E-Visa

  • Use evisa.gov.ge, enter passport details, choose travel dates, and upload your photo and passport pages.
  • Verify email within 1 hour, pay by Visa or Mastercard within 5 hours, and complete DuVerify if required.
  • Each traveller needs a separate application; download and print the approved e-Visa.

What The Georgia E-Visa Really Costs

The Fee Stack And What Is Not Refundable

The official e-Visa FAQ states the cost as 20 USD plus a 2% service fee.

On the portal’s figures, that is US$20.40.

Wego reports a separate DuVerify charge of US$15.

We could not confirm whether the 2% applies to that charge, so budget about US$35 per traveller.

A family of four should plan for about US$140.

The portal says the fee is not refundable if you are denied.

It also says the applicant is responsible for any mistake in the application.

Paying With An Indian Card

Only Visa and Mastercard are accepted.

A RuPay-only card will not work.

The card does not have to be in your name.

One person can pay for the whole family, but must still pay each application inside its own 5-hour window.

Every Trip Needs A New Application

The portal states there is no renewal.

You go through the whole application process every time you travel.

Do not assume last year’s approval, or last year’s fee, carries over.

How To Read The Validity Line On Your Visa

The portal says stay length varies by passport country.

It gives two examples of how the line is written.

“120/30, multiple entry” allows stays of 30 days within a 120-day validity.

“180/90, multiple entries” allows stays of 90 days within a 180-day period.

Wego reports that Indians receive 30 days within 120 days from the date of approval.

IndiGo’s undated page says 90 days within 180.

We could not confirm either on a primary page for Indian passports.

Count your trip against the line printed on your approved e-Visa, not against any guide.

A trip that starts late in the validity window can run out of days before it ends.

Photo And Passport Rules That Trigger A Fresh Application

Photo And Passport Rules That Trigger A Fresh Application

Because corrections need a new application, these rules decide whether you pay twice.

Photo Rules

The photo must be taken within 6 months of applying.

Your head, from the top of the hair to the bottom of the chin, must fill 50% to 70% of the image height.

You must face the camera, so profile shots are refused.

Phone photos, vending-machine photos and photos copied from other documents are not accepted.

A child must be the only person in the photo.

Passport Rules

Your passport must be valid for at least 3 months after the validity period of the visa you request.

That is the visa’s validity, not your return-flight date.

It needs at least 2 free pages.

It must be undamaged, with no unofficial remarks.

It must have been issued within the previous 10 years.

Documents The Portal Names And Documents Only Some Sources Mention

Documents The Portal Names And Documents Only Some Sources Mention

The official FAQ lists five documents for the border:

  • your passport
  • proof of the purpose of travel
  • proof of accommodation
  • travel and health insurance
  • proof of sufficient financial means

It names no minimum bank balance.

Any figure you see elsewhere is not a Georgian rule.

Outlook Traveller reported in May 2025 that Indian applicants must submit Aadhaar, a PAN card, three years of income tax returns and six months of bank statements.

It attributed this to the Georgian National Tourism Administration.

The official FAQ lists none of these.

We could not confirm either position on a primary page.

If the portal asks you for a document at application, upload it.

If it does not, carry your funds proof to the border.

After You Apply: Decisions, Status And Support

The portal says it needs “not less then 5 working days” to decide.

That is a minimum, not a promise.

Wego advises applying at least 2 weeks before departure in June to August.

Do not buy non-refundable tickets before the decision.

Support runs Monday to Friday, 09:00 to 18:00 Georgia time.

That is 10:30 to 19:30 in India.

Write to contact@evisa.gov.ge or call (995 32) 2945050.

How To Spot The Official Portal

The government portal is evisa.gov.ge.

Search results for this topic include many private “.info” sites that look like official portals.

BusinessToday reported that Georgian authorities urged Indian travellers to use only official government portals.

Check the web address before you enter your passport details or card number.

Border Check

E-Visa Approval Is Not Final Entry

  • Border officers can still check your purpose, answers, hotel dates, flight dates, and funds proof.
  • Carry insurance of at least GEL 30,000 for the full stay, valid across Georgia.
  • Print your e-Visa and keep every proof in your cabin bag.
E-Visa Planning

Plan Before You Apply

  • Check passport rules, photo age, foreign visa exemption, dates, and hotel bookings first.
  • Buy insurance for the full stay, keep email open, and have a Visa or Mastercard ready.
  • Apply within each time window, print your e-Visa and proofs, then book non-refundable flights.

Mistakes That Cost Money On The E-Visa

  • Applying with a phone photo.
  • Using a RuPay-only card.
  • Letting the 1-hour email window or the 5-hour payment window lapse.
  • Correcting a typo instead of checking it first.
  • Entering your name differently from your passport.
  • Applying for a child under a parent’s application.
  • Paying on a look-alike site.

Use the applicant's own details.

E-Visa Support

Apply Once, Apply Right

The e-Visa is a timed form. After booking, our Georgia specialist gives you a checklist and reviews your papers at no extra charge, while you submit your own application and identity check.

"Georgia Visa Documents For Indians: Complete 2026 Checklist "

Georgia Visa Documents Required for Indians in 2026

An approved Georgia e-Visa becomes invalid if the information behind it is wrong.

The official application page says your details are checked at the border, and incorrect information makes your e-Visa invalid.

The portal has eight upload fields, and the border officer can ask for five documents, including insurance of at least GEL 30,000 with seven details printed on it.

A mobile-phone photo is not acceptable, and a typo means a new application with no refund.

Your verification email is valid for 1 hour, and payment is due within 5 hours.

This roadmap lists every Georgia visa document an Indian traveller needs, in the order you need it, current as of 1 October 2026.

Do You Need Georgia Visa Documents At All?

Yes, unless a valid foreign visa or residence permit exempts you.

Which Foreign Visas Let You Skip The E-Visa

Georgia’s legislative gazette publishes the list of 50 countries whose visa or residence permit holders may enter without a Georgian visa.

The stay is 90 days in any 180-day period.

The decree applies to any foreign national, so your Indian passport does not disqualify you.

The visa or permit must be valid on the day you enter Georgia.

An expired visa does not count.

The list was last amended on 17 April 2025.

It includes the US, the UK, Canada, Australia, Japan, South Korea, the UAE, Israel, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Oman, Kuwait, Bahrain and New Zealand.

Every Schengen state is listed individually.

Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand and Hong Kong are not on it, so a visa from any of them does not exempt you.

For the wider eligibility picture, see our guide to Georgia visa for Indians.

What You Still Carry Without An E-Visa

Georgia’s insurance rule applies to every tourist, including visa-free entrants.

We found no official list of border documents for visa-free entrants.

Carry the same five documents listed later in this roadmap.

Documents You Upload On The E-Visa Portal

The official e-Visa FAQ says you need a passport, a photo and a Visa or Mastercard to apply.

The official application page lists eight upload fields.

You must apply from outside Georgia.

The form also asks for your purpose of visit, a declaration about your insurance and whether you hold a foreign visa or residence permit.

Answer each one to match the papers you will carry.

Passport Rules That Reject Applications

Your passport must be valid for at least 3 months after the validity period of the Georgian visa you request.

That is counted from the visa’s validity, not from your return flight.

It needs at least 2 free pages.

It must have been issued within the previous 10 years.

It cannot be damaged or carry unofficial remarks.

Enter your middle name right after your given name in the “Given Name” field, with a space between them.

If you have a single name, enter it in the surname field.

All documentation must be in English or Georgian, so a document in any other language falls outside the rule.

Photo Rules That Reject Applications

Your photo must be taken within 6 months of submitting your application.

Your head must fill 50% to 70% of the image height.

You must face the camera directly, and profile shots are rejected.

The portal says snapshots, magazine photos, low-resolution vending machine photos, mobile device photos and full-length photos are not acceptable.

Photos copied or scanned from official documents are also rejected.

Wego reports a digital size of 472 × 591 pixels, which the official pages we opened do not state.

The Eight Upload Fields One By One

The application page lists these fields:

  • Photo.
  • Passport scan, in a single PDF.
  • Supporting document copy.
  • Proof of accommodation.
  • Round-trip flight ticket.
  • Travel insurance.
  • Proof of financial means.
  • Proof of travel purpose.

Wego says the passport PDF should show both sides.

The FAQ says to leave the supporting-document section blank if you have nothing to add.

The FAQ lists only a passport, photo and card as needs for applying, while the application page shows eight fields.

We could not confirm whether the portal accepts the other fields empty.

Keep all eight ready before you start.

Documents The Border Officer Can Ask For

Documents The Border Officer Can Ask For

The official FAQ names five documents you present at the Georgian border:

  • Your passport.
  • A document proving the purpose of your travel.
  • Proof of accommodation.
  • Travel and health insurance.
  • Proof of sufficient funds.

The portal also tells you to print your e-Visa and bring it along.

Remember that information you entered is checked against these papers.

Accommodation Proof

The portal accepts a hotel booking or a rental agreement covering your entire period of stay.

A property document also qualifies.

A booking for only your first night does not cover the stay.

If you move between Tbilisi, Kazbegi, Kakheti and Batumi, every night needs a booking.

Proof Of Funds

The official FAQ accepts four types of proof:

  • A bank statement for the last 3 months.
  • An employer reference.
  • A real-estate document.
  • A sponsor letter stating the costs covered.

The portal names no minimum amount.

Any figure quoted elsewhere is not a Georgian rule.

Proof Of Travel Purpose And Return Ticket

The portal does not define an acceptable purpose document in the pages we opened.

Prepare an itinerary whose dates, cities and hotels match your bookings.

Your return date also sets your stay length.

The portal gives 120/30 and 180/90 as example validity patterns, and Wego reports 30 days within a 120-day window for Indians.

Read the days printed on your approved e-Visa and match your return flight to them.

Our guide to how to reach Georgia from India covers the routes.

Insurance Details Your Certificate Must Show

Visit Georgia’s insurance explainer gives the rule in force since 1 January 2026.

The cover must be at least GEL 30,000.

It must run from arrival to departure.

It can come from a Georgian or foreign insurer, on paper or on screen.

The policy must be available in Georgian or English.

It must show seven details:

  • The parties to the contract.
  • The covered territory.
  • The subject of the insurance.
  • The start and end dates.
  • The insured risks.
  • The coverage limits.
  • The premium amount and payment terms.

The official FAQ adds that cover must include health-related costs and death, and be valid across the whole territory of Georgia.

The explainer publishes no border procedure or penalty, so we cannot say how strictly it is checked.

Check every item on the certificate before you pay.

Entry Interview

Make Your Answers Match Your Papers

  • Border guards may refuse entry if answers are not convincing or the travel purpose seems false.
  • No current published refusal figures for Indian travellers were found.
  • Your hotel names, dates, route, and funds must match what you submitted.
Family Paperwork

Keep One Folder Per Traveller

  • Every traveller needs a separate e-Visa, travel document, application, fee, and insurance.
  • One person can pay for the family, but any detail change needs a new application.
  • Keep each traveller’s passport, e-Visa, insurance, and hotel proof together.
Deadlines That Cancel Your Application

Deadlines That Cancel Your Application

The official pages give these windows:

  • Email verification: 1 hour from receiving the email.
  • Payment: 5 hours after the notification email.
  • DuVerify identity step: US$15, due within 24 hours.

The visa fee is US$20 plus a 2% service fee.

That is US20.40,sowithDuVerifythetotalisaboutUS35.40.

The fee is not refundable.

A missed email or payment window cancels the application.

The portal does not say what happens if you miss the DuVerify window.

Treat it as a hard deadline.

The support desk is contact@evisa.gov.ge, open Monday to Friday, 09:00 to 18:00 UTC+4.

That is 10:30 to 19:30 in India.

Document Order

Prepare Your Georgia Papers

  • Check passport validity, photo rules, exemption eligibility, dates, and hotel proof first.
  • Prepare insurance, funds proof, itinerary, return ticket, and a single passport PDF.
  • Apply with email and card ready, then print the e-Visa and carry all papers in cabin baggage.

Mistakes That Cost Indian Travellers Money

  • Uploading a phone, vending-machine or scanned-document photo.
  • Typing one passport digit wrong, which means a new application and a lost fee.
  • Putting a middle name in the surname field.
  • Buying insurance that lacks one of the seven details.
  • Starting insurance on a later date than your landing date.
  • Booking only the first hotel night.
  • Relying on an expired visa or one from a country not on the list.
  • Using a card that is not Visa or Mastercard, since the portal names only those two.
  • Submitting documents in a language other than English or Georgian.
  • Missing the 1-hour email window.
  • Buying non-refundable flights before the decision, when the portal says a decision takes not less than 5 working days.

Yes.

The official FAQ requires a separate e-Visa and a separate travel document for each traveller.

Do not apply for a child on a parent's application.

Can One Person Pay For The Whole Family?
